Being founded in 2004, Virtuos has made a name for itself as a studio that often works collaboratively with other major AAA entities within the gaming industry, with its recent work onOblivion Remasteredbeing a testament to this. After gaining some traction, this publicly available information was quickly removed, but not before inspiring the rumor mill. It all makes sense and would fit in line with CDPR’s improved reputation since the launch ofCyberpunk 2077.
That’s all good and well, but the surprise and star here is Virtuos. They are veterans of the industry, but not household names. Seeing that name attached to such projects, alongside their other work, is impressive enough as it is. The fact that Virtuos would play some role in not only theOblivion RemasteredDLC, but alsoMGS: Snake EaterAND aCyberpunk 2077DLC is a pedigree many studios could only wish for. Plus, if this DLC meets expectations, then that’s just further proof of Virtuos' strengths in the industry. They are trying to capture three lightning strikes in a bottle, if this rumor is true, when two would be more than sufficient.

While this rumored Virtuos-led DLC forCyberpunk 2077is unlikely to be as expansive asPhantom Liberty’scontent, it is going to be some time before fans see a sequel to the game, and there are still many ways for Night City to be fleshed out beyond what is currently available to players.
