With over 250 quests included in the game, fromOblivion Remastered’s main quest to the various side quests and missions themed around the DLC contents, it’s hard to pinpoint which of these one should prioritize over others and why. Aside from rewards, access criteria, and the possibility of leveled loot, players may want to complete or at least approach certain questlines or single quests over others based on a roleplaying factor. Maybe they are playing as an Imperial who once was a member of the Blades, so their character’s head-canon lore may mean they have a certain urgency to find Martin after the Emperor’s death. However, oneOblivion Remasteredquest can give players an incredible edge early on, if they so choose to complete it.
There are several great items to get fromquests inOblivion Remastered, and while many of them are available as soon as one gets out of the sewers, it may be best to wait a while. This is because most weapons and other pieces of gear one can get as quest rewards in the game are leveled, meaning they have certain stats when acquired at given levels, scaling to their best form very late intoOblivion Remastered. This is not the case for one Daedric quest, which is available as early as level 2.
Oblivion Remastered Players Shouldn’t Sleep on This Daedric Artifact
Possibly the singlebest Daedric artifact inOblivion Remasteredis Azura’s Star, a soul gem capable of containing any type of soul, all while also being indestructible when used. This is an incredible item to have for most characters, as an unlimited soul gem means one doesn’t have to rely on merchants or world loot to get more of them to store souls. On top of that, Azura’s Star also gives players a way to constantly recharge their weapons on the go, which can create an infinite loop.
Byunlocking Frostcrag Spire inOblivion Remastered, players can have both spellcrafting and the ability to enchant weapons as soon as level 1, virtually immediately. As such, with a simple Soul Trap spell or enchant on weapons alongside Azura’s Star, one can never have to spend gold on recharging weapons, nor does the enchant run out of charges. If that wasn’t enough, Azura’s Star can also be used to enchant a weapon in the first place, provided it has some soul trapped in it.
In order to make the infinite loop work, players need Soul Trap, meaning they need to have at least 25 ranks in Mysticism. This is easy to achieve even if Mysticism is not a character’s Major Skill, thanks toOblivion Remastered’s fast leveling process.
As players level up and unlock higher-level souls from their Soul Trap enchant, they can gradually craft better weapons that can have more powerful enchants on them. Some of thebest weapon enchantments inOblivion Remasteredinclude elemental damage, weakness to elemental damage, Weakness to Magic, Paralysis, and more. These can all be paired with Soul Trap, meaning that any enemies defeated with the enchanted weapon will have their soul transferred to Azura’s Star, which can then be used to recharge said weapon.
How and Why Oblivion Remastered Players Should Get Azura’s Star
Still, it may not be too easy for those who aren’t accustomed to several ins and outs of the games to getAzura’s Star inOblivion Remasteredat level 2 or, at least, before level 10. This is because players need not only to locate the shrine to the Daedric Prince in the wild, but also have a sample of Glow Dust in their inventory to start the quest. Luckily, this is easily attainable even early in the game by one of four methods:
After starting Azura’s quest, players will have to fight some vampires, so potions or spells to cure diseases may be helpful. When the deed is done, however, players will have one of the best items in the game free to use for the entire playthrough, never having to worry about weapons and their enchantments again.
It’s worth noting that players can also enchant armor and jewelry with Azura’s Star. This applies at all levels, so getting it early is just the optimal route.
