Summary
Hello Games has pushed out another update forNo Man’s Sky, rolling out a fresh wave of bug fixes and performance tweaks aimed at smoothing out the overall experience. Nearly nine years after its debut back in August 2016, the ambitious space exploration game continues to evolve, with dozens of major content updates shaping theNo Man’s Skyjourney since the title’s launch.
Hello Games recently launched theBeacon update forNo Man’s Sky, which brought some meaningful additions to the game, including a revamped settlement management system, letting players oversee more than one settlement at a time. The update also introduced Autophage settlements, bringing fresh lore and mechanics into the mix. On top of that, players got expanded customization tools, updated defensive systems to help push back pirate attacks, and several broader tweaks, like improved base-building functionality and voiceover refinements.
Now, the developer has followed that up with Version 5.71, a patch that shifts the focus back to stability and polish. The bulk of the fixes targetNo Man’s Sky’s settlement systems, particularly those related to Autophage and standard ones. For instance, there have been issues where claimed settlements didn’t spawn an Overseer’s office or had broken teleporters, and some interactions were plagued by off-angle cameras or buggy UI displays. This patch cleans that up, along with fixing building descriptions, incorrect inventory demands, and glitches in the decision-making system during settlement upgrades.
No Man’s Sky’s visual oddities and gameplay hiccupstied to settlements have been addressed too. Placeholder textures on Autophage buildings have been removed, and buildings that previously popped into view too early now load as expected. There were also fixes for upgrade tasks that failed to use items from a player’s inventory, and bugs where mission tracking got confused when players had more than one settlement. In some cases, players were shown as owning settlements they didn’t actually control, or had raids spike their wanted level unfairly. These issues have been sorted out for a more consistent experience.
Outside the settlement systems, Version 5.71 includes a solid round of performance and technical updates across all platforms. Rendering improvements, better memory management, cleaner mission markers, and more stable NPC behavior were all part of the patch. Console players also saw some platform-specific improvements, like restored controller vibration on PS5 and smoother particle effects. A handful of rare crashes - some tied to time settings or settlement loading - have also been ironed out, making the visually appealingNo Man’s Skyjust a bit steadier.
