Farming Simulator Signature Edition May Somewhat Differ From FS25

Farming SimulatorSignature Edition’s concept and timing are reminiscent ofFarming Simulator Switch Edition, which was effectively a rebranded and slightly altered version ofFarming Simulator 17that arrived shortly after Nintendo’s 2017 console. It lacked multiplayer, modding support, and DLC—omissions that were widely attributed to the hardware limitations of its target platform, although this reasoning was never officially confirmed. With theSwitch 2 being an immensely more powerful device than its predecessor, Giants Software may have an easier time incorporating some Nintendo platform-first features, most notably ModHub support. The company has yet to clarify whetherSignature Editionwill have any notable differences compared toFarming Simulator 25.

Farming Simulator Signature Editionis officially slated to arrive this winter, so sometime between late December 2025 and March 2026. As such, it’s set to debut as one of the first third-partySwitch 2 exclusives, following the likes ofFast Fusion,Bravely Default: Flying Fairy HD Remaster, andSurvival Kids—all of which are part of the upcoming console’s launch lineup.

Following the release ofFarming Simulator Switch Edition, Giants Software launched two more series entries for Nintendo’s first hybrid console, averaging one every third year. If that pattern continues,FS Signature Editioncould be the onlyFarming Simulatorgame for the Switch 2 until around 2028. That isn’t to say Nintendo’s upcoming console will be lacking in farming sims or games that incorporate similar mechanics; My Time at Evershinehas long been confirmed for the Switch 2, and many more cozy titles are likely to follow, especially given their popularity on Nintendo’s 2017 console. The Switch 2 is also expected to receive another mainlineAnimal Crossinggame over the course of its lifecycle.
