Several Nintendo Switch 2 players have reported that their consoles are swelling (as reported byAutomaton), which has raised concerns about the stability of the console’s lithium-ion battery. A Japanese user took toTwitterto post pictures of their Switch 2, showing that the left-side back panel has begun to come away from the rest of the console after only two days of use. This wasn’t the only concern to pop up online, as another user on Reddit shared that their Switch 2’s back panel was already swollen when they took it out of the box. Understandably, after contacting Nintendo, the user was told to return the console, as a swollen battery could be a major fire hazard. Strangely, the Switch 2’s batteryisn’t located near the swollen area of either of these consoles, indicating that it could potentially be a simple manufacturing error. Either way, Nintendo is taking these issues seriously, asking players to report anything odd with their consoles.
