She uses her newly mastered abilities to an obsession she had since she was 6 — the Kansas City Scalper. Wednesday is after him because he is “the most elusive serial killer.” She locates him using a bowling ball that the 11th victim dropped when he snatched her. Wednesday flies to Kansas and confronts the Kansas serial killer and when he holds her, she sees a vision — the life-size dolls he created to represent the victims he killed. He also makes one for Wednesday, thinking she is his next victim. However, she easily beats him with the help of Thing. The clip ends with Wednesday telling the Kansas City Scalper, “Let’s play dolls” while holding a knife.
Fans were impressed after watching the trailer. Some even said that the story about the Kansas City Scalper got them hyped. Many are also happy that Ortega has gotten more involved in the second season because she clearly understands her character. In the upcoming season, theIron Man 3starnot only plays the titular character but also serves as the executive producer. She admitted that her new role in the show made her feel “more empowered” to speak her mind. In a previous interview, she said she was “almost unprofessional” for changing her lines and turning down some of the scenes written for her character. Ortega attracted an intense backlash for her statement, with many calling her out for being disrespectful to the writers. However, she later explained that she used her words “poorly” andshould have used the term “improvised.” Being an EP forWednesdaySeason 2 gave Ortega the power to be involved in project development and the creative process.
The new footage forWednesdaySeason 2is promising. It shows Wednesday’s growth in mastering her psychic abilities and increasing confidence in approaching danger. The six-minute clip highlights Wednesday’s boldness as she flies to Kansas to confront and deal with the Kansas City Scalper, who fascinated her as a kid. It also establishes her as a character who doesn’t just adapt to the darkness but actively confronts and masters it. Another exciting thing in Season 2 is the possibility of expanding Wednesday’s world beyond Nevermore. As she exposes herself to the bigger world, she’ll face more terrifying threats, which could be a catalyst for her growth. The Kansas City Scalper storyline is intriguing, but it appears that Osment’s time in the show could be brief because Wednesday quickly dealt with him.
