Indefinite delays are rarely a positive sign for a game’s development, leading to widespread speculation thatPragmatahas gone theDeep Downroute(vaporware). However, reputable Capcom insider Dusk Golem has renewed hopes among thePragmatafaithful. Over on Twitter, they recently alleged thatPragmatais “certainly still in development as of a few months ago,“allaying growing concerns about the game being canceled. Dusk Golem has been accurate about variousResident Evilleaks in the past, so they clearly have some contacts at Capcom.

Pragmata Could Be “Something Special” From Capcom, Believes Insider

The insider also stated that they believePragmatawill be “something special” once released. The exact intent behind this statement wasn’t revealed, but it likely points to how uniquePragmatais when compared to recent Capcom releases. If anything,Pragmatabears more of a resemblance to Hideo Kojima’sDeath Strandinggamesthan Capcom’s prior work, with a lot of people even theorizing that the iconic director may have been involved in the former’s development process. That doesn’t seem to be the case, though, and as it stands,Pragmatais still targeting launch on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC - sometime in the future.

Given that Sony likely has marketing rights forPragmata, the game may finally resurface at therumored June 2025 State of Play, marking five years since it was originally announced during a PlayStation livestream. There’s also the matter of the highly-anticipated next mainline entry in theResident Evilseries:Resident Evil 9.
