Summary
While many heroes and villains inMy Hero Academiaare able to dish out tons of damage by using a Quirk ability or power, some will decide to rely on their physical prowess to get the job done instead. Over the course of the series, there have been several powerhouses who have stood out because of their physical strength, making them valuable assets for their teams when in a dire situation. In a world where villains can have all kinds of healing and regenerative abilities, being able to have someone strong enough to break through these defenses is absolutely crucial.
When analyzing power levels of the characters inMy Hero Academia, most people willfocus only on the power of their Quirk, but this time around, it’s specifically their physicality that will be taken into account, and more specifically, how much damage they can take and receive as a fighter. While their Quirks will still be taken into consideration, it’s the physical strength that is the focus here. With that being said, these are the strongest physical fighters in all ofMy Hero Academia.
10Re-Destro
Re-Destro Can Assume A Monster-Like Form That Greatly Enhances His Physical Strength
In his regular form, Re-Destro comes across as afairly ordinary businessmanwho clearly isn’t all that much of a fighter, but this all changes once he starts getting worked up, putting his Stress Quirk into high gear. When his stress levels get too high, Re-Destro evolves into a giant mutant-like form that gives him a staggering power boost — as Shigaraki would come to learn after the two end up colliding.
As the former leader of the Meta Liberation Army, Re-Destro is much more of a strategist than a combatant, but he’s certainly not afraid to get his hands dirty if he ever needs to, and with his Quirk, it means he’s more than capable of holding his own against powerful villains and even Pro Heroes.
9Muscular
A Vicious Serial Killer Who Can Buff Up His Muscles For A Strength Boost
Muscular first appears in the story during theForest Training Camp arc, where he acts as the primary villain for Midoriya to take down. However, Midoriya quickly finds out that he’s far out of his depth, especially considering Muscular’s Quirk grants him not only an impenetrable defense, but also plenty of damage output.
Midoriya would actually be forced to go 100% with One For All in this fight, despite knowing the harm it would have on his body, just to be able to hurt Muscular in any way. The truth is, though, if Midoriya hadn’t been there, Muscular could have wreaked plenty more chaos across the training camp with his formidable strength and size.
8Endeavor
When He’s Not Scorching A Villain To Smithereens, Endeavor Is Usually Punching Them In The Face
Admittedly, Endeavor usually prefers usinghis devastating Hellflame abilitiesto scorch his enemies from afar, but this doesn’t mean he’s afraid to get in a villain’s face any time he finds an opening. Just from looking at Endeavor, it’s clear that, aside from his fiery Quirk, his physical strength and prowess is also a massive reason why he managed to skyrocket up the Pro Hero charts.
This means that, even if he weren’t using his Quirk, he could still topple over an enemy, no matter how large in stature they may be. He may be most well-known for his Quirk, but Endeavor is certainly no slouch when it comes to his physical abilities too.
7Mirko
Mirko Has Always Been A Lethal Powerhouse Since Her Early Days As A Hero
Taking out one Nemu is already hard enough, but Mirko was able to clear out an entire hallway of these freakish monsters all by herself, which is a testament to just how absurdly strong this plucky Pro Hero truly is. As the user of the Rabbit Quirk, Mirko can shoot herself forward at lightning speed, before launching herself in the air and flattening her enemies with her giant Lunar leg attacks, which pack quite the punch.
Even when Mirko ends up losing several of her limbs, she’s still able to inflict some severe damage during the final war, becoming one of the go-to heroes for close-quarter confrontations. Once Mirko has an enemy in her sights, she won’t stop until she’s crushed every bone in their body.
6Hood
The High End Nomu, Hood, Was Strong Enough To Almost Best Even The Almighty Endeavor
When most fans think about the high-end Nomus that appear in the series, their minds will usually go straight to Hood, considering he had the best showing of them all. Since Hood was already known for being a dangerous hand-to-hand fighter, he becomes a massive threat to the heroes after he is experimented on and transformed into a high-end Nomu, who is so strong that he manages to almost score a victory over Endeavor.
With Endeavor being the number 1 hero at this point, seeing him be beaten down by a Nomu made it clear to fans that these monsters were not to be messed with, since going toe-to-toe with aPro Hero, especially the number 1, is no easy feat. Though he was eventually defeated, it would take two Pro Heroes pushing themselves beyond their limits to finally score a victory over the creepy Nomu.
5All For One
AFO Doesn’t Always Need To Use His Quirks To Deal With An Opponent
During the final war, fans get to see just how immensely powerful All For One really was back in his prime when he reverts himself to a younger age by usingEri’s Rewind Quirk. As the main villain of the story, it makes sense he would be at least somewhat powerful, but it’s honestly staggering just how much pain and suffering All For One can spread with his fists alone.
All For One is more than capable of pummeling anyone who dares stand against him into the ground, and the fact he took a United States of Smash attack from All Might and shrugged it off shows just how physically imposing this maniacal villain truly is.
4Gigantomachia
All For One’s Giant Brute Will Stomp Out Anyone Who Dares To Get In His Way
Gigantomachia, the brutal giant who serves All For One, is more than happy to crush anyone beneath his feet that is deemed to be an enemy by his master. Though he may not be the flashiest or most elegant fighter out there, Gigantomachia prefers obliterating his targets with massive strikes and stomps, making him a terrifying villain for the heroes to take down.
Though multiple people try taking down Gigantomachia, all of them (aside from Mt. Lady for a brief few seconds) fail to hold him off. In the end, it would require a combination of Shinzo’s brainwashing and Jeanist’s fibers to hold him down for good, but when it comes to physicality, not many stand a chance of standing up to Gigantomachia and coming out the winner.
3Izuku Midoriya
Midoriya Comes A Very Long Way, Eventually Becoming One Of The Most Impressive Fighters In The Series
Midoriya struggles to make full use of his newfound One For All Quirk in the first few arcs, which makes sense, considering his body was still taking time to adjust to its underlying strength and power. However, with a lot of hard work and training, and after acquiring the Quirks from previous users, Midoriya learns how he can unleash his physical strength without breaking his limbs in the process.
As a result, he will usually use Quirks like Blackwhip and Gearshift to catch his opponent off guard, before delivering an explosive punch to put them down for good. As has been shown numerous times,Midoriya can also take a hell of a beatingand still be left standing on his feet, even when an opponent is twice or even triple his size.
2Tomura Shigaraki
Garaki’s Experiments Turned Shigaraki Into An Unstoppable Killing Machine
Even before Shigaraki’s body was given a massive upgrade by Dr. Ganaki, Shigaraki was still immensely powerful, primarily because of his Decay Quirk. However, after he is experimented on by All For One’s loyal doctor, Shigaraki becomes an entirely different beast, with his body being beefed up to the point where he’s capable of holding his own against numerous Pro Heroes at once, even without using his Quirks, as he demonstrates during the final war.
Additionally, his new and improved body also allowed Shigaraki to tank more than a few hits from Midoriya, who, by this point, had reached god-like levels of strength thanks to his multiple Quirks. As if Shigaraki wasn’t already terrifying enough at the beginning of the series, he becomes a much more formidable fighter a lot later down the line.
1All Might
All Might’s Punches Are More Than Strong Enough To Defeat Even The Most Durable Of Villains
Despite being way past his prime by the time the main series kicks off,All Mightstill proves that he’s more than strong enough to deal with any villains who try to spread their terror and corruption across society. A prime example of this comes during the U.S.J. arc where All Might manages to pack so much strength into his punches, he overcomes the Nemu’s regenerative properties, eventually sending the monster high into the sky after dealing a final blow.
Not long after, All Might crushes All For One down into the ground with his almighty United States of Smash, showcasing the final extent of his abilities before he inevitably loses One For All for good. Nobody hits quite as hard as All Might, who would use his unrivaled physical strength to keep Japan safe for as long as he could before being forced to retire.
