My Hero Academiais nearing the end of this legendary run, and many fans are sad to see this series go. However, it still has to go out with a bang, especially with the latter half of the Final War arc promising some of the most bombastic fights the series has ever seen.
Bones has done a great job ofanimating the fights in each season, leading to some stellar moments where the studio’s artistic talent is on full display. Countless fans love how engaging these arcs are, courtesy of the sheer work put into animating every frame and making the story feel all the more special.
8Dark Hero Arc
Deku Shows How Far He’s Come
After the heroes suffer a critical loss at the hands of the Paranormal Liberation Front, Deku decides to take matters into his own hands and never rest as a solo hero. He pushes his body to the very limit and hones his powers while capturing the villains freed by All Might.
His battle with Lady Nagantis a highlight of this arc that shows just how much his powers have grown, with the animation doing justice to his growth and showcasing the effectiveness of quirks like Fa Jin. Ultimately, after being a hero for days on end without any rest, he is captured by his fellow classmates, who allow him to get the much-needed sleep he deserves.
7Meta Liberation Army Arc
The Villains Get To Shine In An Arc Full Of Violent Conflicts
No one expected the series to turn intoMy Villain Academia. That was before the Meta Liberation Army arc reared its head. In a bid to become a stronger villain force, Shigaraki and his goons decided to take on Re-Destro’s forces and make them join their cause.
This leads to numerous amazing battles whereevery member of the League of Villainsbecomes stronger than ever. It also helps that the animation hammers in just how powerful they’ve become, with Shigaraki’s mastery over Decay being a real highlight.
6Star And Stripe Arc
A Non-Japanese Hero Shows Just How Powerful She Is
While the hero trend has been present worldwide,My Hero Academiahas mostly focused on Japan’s heroes. This changes when Star and Stripe arrives to assist Japan, only to find herself facing off against Shigaraki himself in a battle that boasts incredible animation to add to the tension.
It makes for a nerve-racking battle wherethe American hero uses her Quirk, New Order, to impose powerful rules that bring the fight to Shigaraki. While his Decay is too strong for her to deal with, her final instruction to New Order before it’s stolen causes Shigaraki’s body to implode as the hero’s will tears him apart from within.
5Pro Hero Arc
Endeavor Proves His Worth As The No. 1 Hero
After All Might’s retirement, it was on Endeavor to satisfy civilian expectations as the new No. 1 Hero. However, he had no idea he would be called to action so soon after a high-end Nomu named Hood arrived as a major threat.
This Nomu was no joke and permanently scarred Endeavor in a hellish battle, but this hero didn’t give up. He embodied the spirit of his rival, All Might, and went Plus Ultra with a dazzling Prominence Burn that marked a stunning, well-animated conclusion to one of the series' best fights that came out of nowhere.
4Final War Arc
Fans Are Already Impressed By What They’ve Seen
It’s a testament to how visually exciting the Final War arc has already been that it already deserves to be hailed for its incredible animation.The battle between the Todoroki brothers, coupled with Himiko and Uraraka’s fight, shows Bones' animation prowess at its very best.
All Might also rejoins the battle with a suit that helps him become a hero once again in a fight against All for One. He may be pushed to his very limit, but it’s hard not to be motivated after seeing a de-powered Toshinori Yagi jump into the fray and bring the fight to his nemesis once again, even if he lacks the powers of One for All.
3Hideout Raid Arc
All Might’s Final Use Of One For All Is Spectacular
After Bakugo is kidnapped by the League of Villains, the heroes mount a rescue mission to take these heinous figures out before they can harm an innocent student. This ultimately leads to All for One arriving, forcing All Might to bring out his power one final time to defeat his nemesis.
During the battle, One for All’s vestiges start fading, and All Might reverts to his de-powered form. This should’ve spelled his end, but the No. 1 Hero refused to give up and used a smart feint to unleash the last of his power in one emphatic United States of Smash that’s animated beautifully and marks the end of a memorable battle.
2Shie Hassaikai Arc
Overhaul Serves As The Compelling Villain Of This Arc
The stakes were through the roof during the Shie Hassakai arc, with both Midoriya and Mirio feeling inadequate after failing to save a young girl from the clutches of a heinous villain. This prompts them to go all-out during the raid, culminating in Mirio losing his powers and Midoriya unleashing a 100% Full Cowl courtesy of Eri.
These moments feature great animation, but other fights featuring Red Riot and Tamaki also get their time to shine. Even excluding these instances, the action-packed arc is full of incredible visuals that lend a ton of weight to each fight.
1Paranormal Liberation War Arc
A Bombastic Conflict That Marks A Turning Point In The Hero-Villain Conflict
A massive turning point inMy Hero Academiacomes after the Paranormal Liberation Front mounts an assault for the ages on Japan. Gigantomachia can’t be stopped after a valiant attempt and destroys many major settlements in Japan.
Meanwhile, Shigaraki’s Decay Quirk becomes so strong that he can level entire cities with ease. This forces Midoriya and the other heroes to bring their all against this foe in what could’ve been a losing effort, had Aizawa not blocked this villain’s Quirk. Still, the destruction was immense, and the animation hammered in just how damaging this villain’s attack was on Japan.
