Summary
Elden Ring Nightreignhas hooked players back into a new Souls title that challenges players to defeat bosses as a group. Unlike other Soul games, such as the originalElden RingorDark Souls, players battle against a clock inNightreignas they quickly bolt around the map either solo or in a team of three, gathering Runes and finding better weaponry that allows them to survive three nights to eventually face off against the Nightlords.
With Elden Ring Nightreign revealing entirely new mechanics to the Souls genre of games, players are likely to make many mistakes that can be easily avoided or corrected to give the player and their teammates a better chance at survival. These are some common mistakes players make that are ruining their runs.
8Building Their Character Wrong
Each Hero Scales With Different Stats
Although one of the positives ofElden Ring Nightreignis that any character can wield any weapon without needing to level up a certain stat to hold it, that doesn’t mean players should be using absolutely any weapon on any character. Each Hero ofNightreignhas their own attributes, which make them stronger with certain weaponry over others.
For example, the Recluse has high intelligence and Faith, which makes her perfect forcasting all sorts of magic. However, her strength is a low score of a D, meaning players should avoid any sort of heavy weaponry. Players should be sure to look at this information before beginning their expedition to better plan their build.
7Keeping Things To Themselves
Sharing Is Caring In Nightreign
While players cantake on the night solo,Elden Ring Nightreigntends to encourage players to work with two other players to survive the three nights. One of the most common mistakes that tends to risk the entire run for a team of players is usually down to being selfish.
While it may be quite easy to hoard all the good loot for themselves, sometimes a talisman that may not benefit the player could be perfect for a teammate. Many players forget that they can ping items as well as locations, and therefore, they can let a member of their team know that there could be an item that will aid their build.
6Forgetting About The Night’s Tide
The Damage Outside The Circle Is Deadly
Some players may be willing to take some risks inElden Ring Nightreignwhen it comes to the Night’s Tide, the Fortnite-like storm that gradually gets smaller during each night cycle of the title. When taking on various bosses across the different locations on the map, a player can very easily lose track of time and then suddenly feel the Night’s Tide embarking on the backs of their heels.
Although the damage within the storm isn’t too excessive, those who find themselves in the unlucky situation of having low health will likely die and lose access to both levels and runes. If it’s the first night, players may be able to go back to gain these runes, but on the second night, these runes are likely lost for good.
5Players Having So Few Flasks
Always Stop At Churches
When first beginning an expedition inNightreign, everything can be rather overwhelming with so many places to visit. Some of the most crucial locations a player and their teammates should be sure to visit whenever they get the chance are the multiple churches around the map.
It’s a very common mistake to avoid these locationsin favor of defeating bossesinstead, which can truly ruin a run, as each of these churches provides players with more flasks. A player can never go wrong with having more heals, especially when taking on more challenging bosses.
4Ignoring The Mines And Tunnels
They Could Be Upgrading Their Weapons
Another location that players tend to forget exists while playingElden Ring Nightreignis the Mines. This location serves two purposes, which are both incredibly useful. Firstly, the Mines are a great place to go to find Smithing Stones. These can either be dropped by enemies or when facing a boss found within the mines, and then taken to an anvil to upgrade the player’s weapon. This increases the damage it does.
Additionally, the mines also serve a second purpose as a tunnel. Players who are looking to quickly get around the map may use the tunnels to get from one point to another. They simply have to remember to change the map so they can see the tunnel outlines.
3Never Picking Up Armaments
Players Are Missing Out On Passives
Although previously mentioned that players shouldn’t be using weapons that don’t scale with their heroes' attributes, that doesn’t mean players shouldn’t be picking up these weapons. With little time to build their character, players will berelying on passivesto increase their chances of survival.
What makes these passives even better is that many of these weapons don’t need to be in the hands of the player to benefit from them, unless the passive has a red hand icon next to it. Therefore, a player should fill their inventory with weapons with the best passives for them.
2Ignoring The Nightlord’s Vulnerability
This Deals More Damage To Them
Before embarking on an expedition, many players make their first mistake, and that’s ignoring the vulnerability of the Nightlord they are about to face. Each Nightlord has a damage type that they are weak to. By exploiting this damage type, the player may be able to stun the Nightlord they are facing, if they finally make it to the third and final night.
While these battles can be completed without focusing on such damage, it will make the game slightly easier for players, especially as it also gives them a starting plan on what sort of places they should be running towards first.
1Splitting Off Into Separate Directions
Every Fight Is Harder Alone
One of the most common mistakes inElden Ring Nightreignthat will surely ruin a player’s run is something that occurs when playing as a team. Sometimes, a group of players may have different ideas about where they should go first, and instead of simply choosing one of them, the group splits off from one another in different directions.
Although a more skilled player may be able to hold their own, there is still the risk of being defeated when attempting these tasks by themselves. Toavoid unnecessary deaths, players should stick together so that they can defeat enemies far quicker and therefore cover more ground that way.
