Moon Knightcreator Jeremy Slater has recently opened up toComicBook.comabout the future of the show, remaining optimistic that the character will return down the line. However, it has also been made clear thatthe decision is very much down to Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige and Isaac himself rather than him.

“Talk to Kevin Feige, Talk to Oscar Isaac. I think the ball’s really in their court,” Slater said. “It’s as much or as little Moon Knight as Oscar wants to do. Kevin’s the guy with the master plan, and I think when he comes up with a way to really incorporate Moon Knight into there … It’s my hope that we’re gonna see him again, but I’m as curious as the rest of you guys.”

Marvel television executive Brad Winderbaum has previously claimed that there are “plans forMoon Knightdown the road,“but there has been no further clarification on what that might entail. He’s a character that could be dropped into another series or movie, withDaredevil: Born Again’sdark tonesbeing a good option. However, Marvel Studios has been very quiet regarding this character and whether or not he will return to people’s TV screens in the future. It is becoming a source of frustration for fans of the character because Marvel is refusing to provide an outright answer with any absolute clarity, which would end the speculation. Instead, people are being left to pick at scraps of interviews from those involved as they cling to the hope thatMoon Knightmight return.

Marvel Studios has claimed they’re looking to produce longer-running television shows moving forward rather than the quick one-season options that have been provided so far. That commitment startedwithDaredevil: Born Again, which has already begun filming its second season, but bringing backMoon Knightwould give the possibility of another show to be built on. Given the mythology and the various characters involved inMoon Knight, this would be a sensible show to build around, especially since it’s so unique in comparison to everything else within the franchise. However, there appear to be no concrete plans for how that will end up materializing.

The franchise is currently in a difficult period aftersignificantly delayingAvengers: Doomsday, and the general interest in the MCU is lower than it ever has been, which is unfortunate. However, bringing back unique shows such asMoon Knightwould help appeal to the core Marvel audience while providing high-quality content, which the first season certainly was. However, the longer the delay between the original season ending and the second one being greenlit, the more the desire from fans and the general excitement will continue to decrease, meaning Marvel needs to make a firmMoon Knightdecision sooner rather than later.
