In a director’s letter, Yuya Tokuda revealed more details about the upcoming update andMonster Hunter Wilds' collaboration withStreet Fighter 6. The popularStreet Fighter character Akuma will be added to the game as a new challenger, including Akuma’s full armor set, with Akuma-only abilities. These attacks can be selected from the Item Bar, allowing players to perform combos. The director noted that these actions can be helpful when players face off against difficult monsters.

Additionally, new 8-starMonster Hunter Wildstemperedversions of Gore Magala, Rey Dau, Uth Duna, Nu Udra, and Jin Dahaad will become available to hunt at HR 41 and higher. It’s worth noting that these monsters have received some adjustments to their health, scaling, and resistance to make them tougher to beat—especially Tempered Gore Magala, which Tokuda warns will be hard even for experienced players. Improvements to quests will also be applied, including the addition of higher-difficulty ones and an increased spawn rate for tempered monsters.

Alongside balance adjustments to the Hammer, Hunting Horn, Gunlance, Light Bowgun, and Heavy Bowgun, Capcom is bringing some quality-of-life improvements, such as the possibility for hunters to rest inMonster Hunter Wilds’s Grand Huband Suja, Peaks of Accord, to restore all destroyed Pop-up Camps. Some visual adjustments to notifications have also been applied, with the goal of preventing too many UI elements from cluttering the Environment Overview.

New features are also being added, like a way for players to view the individual endemic life they’ve captured, including their names, size, and weight. As Capcom gears up to release this major patch, players have a lot to look forward to on May 28.
