Build a Rocket Boy has released the second post-launch update forMindsEye, as the developer says it is continuing to listen to community feedback and refine the overall gameplay experience. The June 18MindsEyeupdate is available to download now on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store. The size of the patch will vary depending on the platform of choice, with the update ranging between 1.6 GB and 5.4 GB.

Today’s update comes less than a week after thefirst post-launchMindsEyepatchwas released, which included new memory optimizations, improvements to CPU and GPU performance, and also made a handful of bug fixes and stability improvements. While the second update is now live, Build a Rocket Boy has promised the community a third patch by the end of the month. The studio says it will include ongoing performance and stability improvements, rebalancing the game’s “hard” difficulty setting, animation fixes, and AI improvements.

AfterMindsEyehad a disastrous launch last week, Build a Rocket Boy has now released the game’s second update in an attempt to continue rectifying some of its most prominent issues. According to the official patch notes, which can be found further down this article, patch 2 includes continuedperformance improvements related to CPU, GPU, and memory use. There are also fixed related to AI vehicle collisions, game crashes, and more. Build a Rocket Boy also says it will be continuing to release regular updates and work closely with the game’s community to improve the experience. “We are fully committed to doing everything possible to action your feedback,” the studio said.

Build a Rocket Boy is clearly committed to improving the overall gameplay experience, but that hasn’t stoppedMindsEyefrom becoming the worst-reviewed game of the year. The unfortunate record was previously held byAmbulance Life: A Paramedic Simulator, which held an abysmal Metacritic score of 44. Now, however, after reviews slowly began trickling in from media outlets,MindsEyehas become the worst-reviewed game of 2025 with an even lower Metacritic score of 37. Although most of the criticism is due to the large number of bugs, stability issues, and glitches, reviews have also referenced the “lack of substance” and “poorly designed mission scenarios” as some of the many other reasons thatMindsEyeresonated so poorly with players.

Despite the overwhelmingly negative reviews,MindsEyestill appears to be selling well, at least in the UK. In its first week on the market,MindsEyemanaged to climb to the number four position in physical game sales in the UK. Although the charts were dominated by heavy hitters such asMario Kart WorldandEA Sports FC 25,MindsEye’s unexpected appearance put it above the likes ofCyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition,Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, and more. But only time will tell ifMindsEyecan hold its position in the charts for more than a week.
