Summary
My Hero Academiais one of the most popular anime series around right now. With the remainder of the Final War arc serving as the focus of the final season, it’s easy to see why fans are trying to digest everything they can about this long-running series before it grinds to a halt.
Some of the bestMy Hero Academiaheroes fans love need to use their brains more than their pure strength to succeed. While seeingstrong individuals smash each otheris fun, a battle of wits is also just as entertaining, if not more.
1Ochaco Uraraka
Her Gravity Powers Need To Be Used In Creative Ways
Being able to manipulate gravity is a unique power, and Uraraka shows just how effective this power can be despite her lack of screen time as an active hero. Thankfully, a major fight against Himiko ensured that she got the time in the spotlight she deserved.
Using gravity to launch projectilesand cover great distances requires a lot of training and practice. Thankfully, Uravity has put in the work to ensure that her brain fuels the effectiveness of her Quirk inMy Hero Academia.
2Mirio Togata
Smartly Phases Through Objects To Counter Enemies
Mirio’s ability to phase through objects is extremely useful, allowing him to avoid attacks and build momentum to land devastating blows. However, it’s clear that he needed to hone his intellect to make the most of this power.
Knowing how momentum will impact the strength of his blows is paramount, and his Quirk needs to be used tactically to flummox opponents in close combat. If a dumber person had this Permeation Quirk, then they would’ve never cracked the U.A. Top Three.
3Shota Aizawa
His Quirk Nullifying Power Is Incredible
There’s a reason why Erasure Head trained himself on how to use durable bindings to battle opponents in combat. His Quirk is very powerful, but all the cancelling in the world won’t stop a good punch from landing unless he knows how to defend himself.
He may be better in a support role, but Aizawa has shown time and time again that he doesn’t want to stay on the sidelines. The tactical use of his Erasure Quirk, coupled with his combat prowess, makes Aizawa the perfect mix of brains and brawn.
4Momo Yaoyorozu
Uses Her Brains To Create Nifty Things On The Fly
Momo’s Creation Quirk has the potential to be one of the most useful powers in the series.Being able to create anythingat will can be extremely nifty, but she needed to use her brains to make the most of this Quirk.
This has been shown time and time again in the series, making it clear that Momo boasts some genuinely impressive intelligence. Even if her plan fell short of the mark, her sedative managed to stop Gigantomachia before his rampage became unstoppable.
5Present Mic
Amplifying His Boss With Certain Surfaces And Gadgets Is Pretty Smart
It took a while for Hizashi to develop a personality of his own, but his Quirk made him entertaining from the get-go without needing a deep look into his backstory. His Voice Quirk made him perfect for the role of an announcer, but his brains have allowed him to use his powerful tones in combat.
By exploiting certain surfaces and catching enemies unawares, Present Mic can incapacitate them with a well-timed use of his Quirk. It may not make him the strongest frontline fighter, but his effectiveness at knocking enemies out makes him a must-have in a support role.
6Himiko Toga
Her Transformation Quirk Is Used To Great Effect
Himiko’s chilling yandere personality makesher blood transformation Quirkquite fitting for her character. At first, she could only take on the appearance of others and used this ability to fool people.
However, during her fight against the Meta Liberation Army, she showed off her ability to copy the Quirk of the people she transforms into. This makes her a riveting character who uses numerous Quirks in special ways to wreak havoc as a villain, even though she doesn’t have the strength to take on hard-hitters in one-on-one combat.
7Sir Nighteye
Reading The Future Lets Him Make Up For His Lack Of Brawn
Sir Nighteye is undoubtedly one of the smartest characters in the series. He used his Foresight Quirk brilliantly to nip crime in the bud before it even happened and made up for his lack of strength with the powers of prediction.
Unfortunately, his overreliance on Foresight came to bite himwhen he couldn’t see a way to defeat Overhaul and admitted defeat. Still, this was a small misstep for an otherwise calculating character who used logic and reason to become a valiant hero.
8Hitoshi Shinso
His Brainwashing Must Be Paired With A Strategy For It To Be Truly Effective
Shinso’s Brainwashing Quirkcould’ve had the potential to command many, but the truth is that he could only manipulate a single person and would be left open in close combat. This is precisely why he learned to fight with the same bindings as Aizawa to gain an edge against his opponents.
This, combined with the smart use of his Brainwashing Quirk, means that Shinso must rely on his wits to survive in combat. He manages to do so and prove why he’s one of the most underrated heroes in the series, who more people need to respect.
