Ahead of the next majorMarvel Rivalsupdate, NetEase Games showed off the new Binary Sword skin for Magneto. Magneto’s Binary Sword skin is one of many new additions forMarvel RivalsSeason 2.5, which begins on May 30.
Season 2 ofMarvel Rivalsis about to reach its half-way mark, ushering the start of Season 2.5 and the debut of Ultron. Ultron arrives as a new Strategist with his drone army, and players can also look forward to new skins for Hawkeye and Groot in Season 2.5. A new map set in Arakko, the neighboring island of Krakoa, will also be available in Season 2.5 alongside balance updates for the roster and gameplay adjustments. Magneto will also get his time to shine with a new Binary Sword skin.
The official Twitter account forMarvel Rivalsrevealed thatSeason 2.5’s new Combat Chestwill feature a new Binary Sword skin for Magneto as a reward. The new skin is part of the premium reward track for the Combat Chest, which is expected to cost 690 Lattice (roughly $7). Sticking with the theme of Season 2.5, the Binary Sword skin sees Magneto infected with Ultron’s virus, making him a cyborg-like hero. The skin’s design already appears to be a fan-favorite among Magneto players, with some fans saying it could be one ofMarvel Rivals’best skins yet.

In total, the Combat Chest will feature three costume bundles with additional emotes and mood icons. Not only will Magneto’s Binary Sword skin become available, butMarvel Rivalsplayers can also participate in the new Cerebro Database II event to earn Hawkeye’s Binary Arrow skin for free. What’s more, a newGalacta’s Will Twitch drop bundle featuring Emma Frost will be available, allowing players to earn rewards based on total watch time for qualifying Twitch streams ofMarvel Rivals. Players wanting to get additional skins and emotes will have plenty of options intheMarvel Rivalsin-game shopwhen Season 2.5 launches as well. Yggroot Groot, X-Tron Ultron, Mechanical Phantom Ultron, and Chibi Jeff will be among the other new skins that will be available in Season 2.5 this week.
Marvel RivalsSeason 2.5’s balance tweaksinclude a rework for Jeff the Land Shark, and Luna Snow and Hawkeye are among several heroes that will receive new Team-Up abilities and changes. To round out the update, NetEase Games plans to implement various tweaks and adjustments to the user interface and overall user experience, along with several bug fixes.
