Mario Kart World’s fresh open-world take on the iconic kart racing series has already made the game a hit among Nintendo Switch 2 players. While the game offers players a ton of content to uncover, one newMario Kart Worldcharacter has quickly jumped to the top of the roster’s fan favorites—so much so that Cow players are dominating online lobbies. While it’s not all that surprising that this ridiculous new racer has made a name for itself amongMario Kartfans, the lengths that players are going to in order to play as this character have created what is essentiallyMario Kart World’s all-cow races.
On the surface, it seems silly to compare the bright, colorfultracks ofMario Kart Worldto the dark, demon-infested world ofDiablo 4. However, the two communities appear to share one similarity in their obsession with cows. WhileMario Kart Worldplayers get to have their heyday racing as the Cow,Diablo 4players continue to struggle with the search for the long-rumored secret cow level many believe to be hidden as an Easter egg within Blizzard’s ARPG.
Mario Kart World’s Cow-Filled Lobbies Are a Painful Reminder of Diablo 4’s Ongoing Cow Level Hunt
The Secret Cow Level is an Inside Joke Among Diablo 4 Fans
Diablo’s secret cow level extends back toDiablo 2, where completing a series of specific tasks would allow players to access a bonus level filled with cow-like enemies trying to attack them. The cow level returned inDiablo 3in a slightly different form, known as Whimsyshire, a cartoony area filled with cutesy creatures also out to kill the player. However, inDiablo 4, the mystery of the secret cow level is still unraveling and lacks a definitive answer like its previous incarnations.
So far, the hunt forDiablo 4’s secret cow level includes the need to kill 666 cows in 666,666 seconds to receive a special relic, but this must be done across three different regions for three different relics. Collecting these relics and accessing the Forlorn Hovel gives players a nice Easter egg referencing pastDiablocow levels, as this area is filled with regular bovine residents. The trail forDiablo 4’s secret cow levelgoes cold in the Vessel of Hatred expansion, where players can obtain the new Nahantu relic, which leads to the unusual key, and enter the Forlorn Burrow with more cows inside, but nothing more has been found about accessing a true secret cow level at this point.
It’s possible that more evidence ofDiablo 4’s secret cow level will appear in the next major expansion, slated to release sometime in 2026.
Mario Kart World Makes Its Own Cow Level a Reality with a Popular New Character
WhileDiablo 4players are stuck putting together the pieces of a puzzle that may ultimately not exist,Mario Kart Worldplayers have been able to enjoy plenty of cow-themed shenanigans thanks to its roster’s new star.Mario Kart World’s rosterhas received a big upgrade over past entries with the addition of a wide variety of playable characters from franchise staples all the way to genericMarioenemies and NPCs. One character that has skyrocketed in popularity amongMario Kart Worldplayers is the Cow.
Mario Kart World’s Cow has become so popularthat online lobbies have turned into their own “secret cow level” with races becoming filled with players playing as the character. WithMario Kart Worldsupporting online races with up to 24 players, in theory, tracks could become overrun with 24 Cows all competing for first place, and racing on a track like Moo Moo Meadows would add even more cows into the mix. While there’s no shortage of bovine fun to be had inMario Kart World,Diablo 4players are still stuck scratching their heads trying to access the fabled secret cow level themselves.
