Two years after the release ofStreet Fighter 6, Capcom will release a Switch 2 port and a major update on June 5 that includes Elena as a downloadable fighter. Along with the Switch 2’s launch, Capcom will package the base game and the first two years of DLC fighters as a bundle calledStreet Fighter 6: Years 1–2 Fighters Editionon all platforms.

The upcomingStreet Fighter 6: Years 1–2 Fighters Editionwill include access to characters such as Terry Bogard and Mai Shiranui from SNK’sFatal Furyfranchise, alongside the upcoming DLC challenger Elena. Making her first appearance in the series sinceUltra Street Fighter 4,Elena’s signature fighting style is called Capoeira, a West African and Brazilian martial art. Capoeira uses dance-like movements along with strong kicks and leg strikes to keep opponents off balance. Additionally, Elena’s outfits from her appearances inStreet Fighter 3andUltra Street Fighter 4will be included once she is released.

June 5 will also mark a new age forStreet Fighter 6, as Capcom will bring more players into the fold. As one of the launch titles for the Switch 2,Street Fighter 6: Years 1–2 Fighters Editionwill include the base game and all DLC fighters up to Elena.Capcom will conduct server maintenance for seven hours, starting June 3 at 10:00 PM Eastern. Once maintenance has concluded, new outfits for the other Year 2 DLC fighters will be available as part ofStreet Fighter 6’s June 5 update. However, physical Switch 2 copies ofStreet Fighter 6will be on a Game-Key Cardthat requires a 50 GB download, and the DLC fighters will only be available via a voucher that expires in 2027.

The launch ofStreet Fighter 6on the Switch 2 comes at a busy time for Capcom’s hit fighting game. On May 28, acollaboration betweenStreet Fighter 6andMonster Hunter Wildskicked off, with new cosmetic outfits in the latter Capcom title for players to purchase as DLC. The collaboration also brought one ofStreet Fighter’s most notorious villains, Akuma, toMonster Hunter Wildswith a new quest that eventually grants players the Demon Armor set.

Between the return of Elena and the game’s Switch 2 port,Street Fighter 6shows no signs of slowing down. As the latest entry inone of Capcom’s top-selling franchises, it remains to be seen howStreet Fighter 6will keep the momentum going into its third year.
