In a new post, Nintendo confirmed a 6am PT/9am ET event start on June 18 and fans can expect to see about 15 minutes' worth of information. Outside of that, details are fairly scarce, but the good news is that fans won’t have to wait long to see how this new game evolves the franchise even more.

With this direct, fans are hoping to finally get some answers to the rumors and remaining questions surrounding the game. One of the bigger rumors is thatDonkey Kong Bananzacould have multiplayerof some sort. Fans noticed that the official website listed Donkey Kong Bananza under the “Local Multiplayer Games” category and displayed TBD for the number of players. While this has certainly raised a few eyebrows, it wouldn’t be outrageous for it to feature some sort of multiplayer component similar to what a game likeSuper Mario Odysseydid.
Fans of the franchise appear to have a lot to look forward to with this one, as Nintendo has confirmed the return of characters like Cranky, Candy, and even Rambi the Rhino. Even with the addition of legacy characters,Donkey Kong Bananzautilizes DK’s new appearance, which legendary game designer Shigeru Miyamoto revealed was made to allow the character to be more expressive and animated. Clearly, the redesign worked in this regard, as Donkey Kong has been shown to make all sorts of interesting faces during gameplay.
