Overwatch 2has officially teased Season 17, which will fittingly have its reveal trailer on June 17. Titled Powered Up!, the nextOverwatch 2season seems to be inspired by classic arcade games.
June 24 marks the start ofOverwatch 2Season 17. Fans already know about several features coming in the update, such as theAatlis map for Flashpoint inOverwatch 2, three new heroes in Stadium, and Map Voting in Competitive Play. However, the title and theme of Season 17 have thus far been shrouded in mystery.
Now,Overwatch 2has not only given players a first look at the next update, but revealed when they can expect to learn more. A short video shared byOverwatch 2on Twitter featuring a dark and stormy night on Busan zoomed in on the arcade, slowly focusing on one of the games as it became supercharged with lightning. After flashing an “Insert Coin” screen and a modified form of the signatureOverwatchelimination skull, it zoomed in even further to reveal the title of Season 17 – Powered Up! – along with confirmation that the season trailer will air on June 17.
Overwatch 2 Season 17 Trailer Coming June 17
Judging from the video, fans can assume at least some of the skins inOverwatch 2Season 17 will be inspired by classic arcade games. There was concept art for 8-bit skins for D.Va, Sombra, Genji, and Reinhardt back in 2024, some or all of which could become real skins in Season 17. Interestingly enough, Blizzard already revealed theSeason 17 Mythic skin for D.Va at theOverwatch 2Spotlightevent earlier this year, but unless plans have changed, the cosmetic is inspired by the White Tiger of the West, one of the Four Auspicious Beasts, rather than any sort of arcade game.
Either way, players won’t have to wait long to find out more about what is in store for them in Season 17. The trailer on June 17 will likely reveal most of the skins coming to the Battle Pass and store, cover many of the major features of the update, and will likely even teasea newOverwatch 2collaboration event of some kind.
The Season 17 update itself arrives inOverwatch 2on June 24. Later on in the season, fans can expect a Mythic Weapon skin for Reaper, updates to the Suravasa and New Junk City Flashpoint maps, and an official reveal and trial period for Aqua, thesupport hero coming inOverwatch 2Season 18.
