Summary
Nintendo Switch 2 owners hoping for the release ofInfinity Nikkion the new console will have to wait a while, but there seems to be plenty of possibility for the future. WhileInfinity Nikki’s developer and publisher, Infold Games, is in favor of branching out to new platforms, the company is currently facing some obstacles that make a Switch 2 port impossible for the time being.
Infinity Nikkiwas releasedin December 2024, and it is currently only available to play on PlayStation 5, PC, and mobile devices. The free-to-play action-adventure title made big waves in the gaming community in the months leading up to its release, with more than 30 million registrations worldwide a month before its launch. Fans have been wondering for months whether the game would make its way to the Switch 2, and the release of Nintendo’s new console on June 5 has the community watching closely once again.

New commentary from Infold Games suggests that a Switch 2 port is possible, but it’s not in the company’s immediate plans, even after it reaches the end of its console exclusivity deal with PlayStation. In an interview withVideoGamer, an unnamed representative of Infold stated that extendingInfinity Nikkito new platforms is part of the company’s business structure, but the current focus is on refining and enriching the gaming experience on the current platforms on which the game is available. That refinement includes the release of more meaningful content updates, improving performance, and fixing bugs. The statement seems to carry some additional weight followingnegative feedback regarding the release ofInfinity NikkiVersion 1.5in late April.
Infinity Nikki Fans May Have to Wait on a Switch 2 Port
The latest version ofInfinity Nikkihas resulted in boycottsof the game over several issues. The game is built around acquiring different outfits for Nikki, all of which give her special powers, and most outfits require outfit pieces to be pulled via a gacha system. The 1.5 update has increased the number of pieces in each outfit, and even with the game’s pity system in place, players may need to make up to 220 pulls to acquire each outfit. Infold has also allegedly censored any fan feedback on its social media platforms, eliminating any mention of a boycott, which resourceful players have skirted by rebranding the movement as a “girlcott.” Infold has, however, responded to criticism by gifting players in-game currency as compensation.
There are other issues Infold will likely have to address before moving forward with any potential ports. In late May, many players reported that a bug waspreventing them from launchingInfinity Nikkion PC when using the Windows 11 operating system, leaving them with a static black or white screen. Players have also issued complaints about disappearing in-game currency and zones that appear to be unfinished.
