The Final Saga ofOne Piecehas finally started, and fans couldn’t be more excited for the events to unfold. The Final Saga started with Egghead, which revealed a lot of lore about theOne Pieceworld, but the reveals weren’t just going to stop there, instead, they continued on in Elbaf. Elbaf has revealed a lot already, but to the shock of many, its main villain is Imu themself. With Imu showcasing many new abilities, it seems obvious what power they have - and it’s an extremely powerful biblical creature.
Imu’s Character in One Piece So Far
Imu’s Power is Terrifying
The threat of the World Government itself was always known by fans ofOne Piece, but Oda chose to introduce Imu a lot later on, specifically in the Reverie arc of the story.
Imu’s reveal was definitely a shock to the fans, especially as his character remains, until now, very mysterious. That said, now, with the Final Saga, more has been revealed. In the Elbaf arc, Imu decided to make a move by using the body ofone of the Holy Knights, Gunko.
One thing fans know for sure about Imu is that they are insanely powerful, and they secretly rule the world. Saint Imu has likely been alive since the Void Century, and has a deep connection with Arabasta, as Vivi’s ancestor Queen Lily went missing and never resurfaced since then.
Imu’s powers are still, for the most part, a mystery, but Oda is giving fans a sneak peek of a fraction of this power in the newest One Piece chapter.
Imu’s Devil Fruit Power Might Have Already Been Revealed
Imu’s Fruit Could be The Leviathan
One thing fans have been waiting for since the reveal of Saint Imu Nerona is their powers. Fans wondered just how powerful Imu is, and ifImu can even be called the most powerful characterin theOne Pieceworld.
The newestOne Piecechapter, which only showcases a fraction of Imu’s power, proves to fans just why Imu rules the world.
So far, fans have seen a few abilities Imu can use. Firstly, and most impressively, Imu can grant anyone they wish immortality and infinite regeneration. This is seen with the Five Elders and the Holy Knights. Only very specific attacks can damage them, likely having to affect their souls instead of their bodies.
Imu can also most likely give Devil Fruit-like abilities. The Five Elders’ powers are likely not due to Devil fruits, but an example of what powers Imu can grant. They are all demonic in appearance.
Imu can control people as well, and even take over their bodies in some cases. InOne Piece1149, Imu took over Gunko’s body and could use it as they wished. Previously, it was obvious that Gunko was also under mind control as she was not being herself, also an effect of Imu’s incredible powers.
All that aside, it also seems that Imu can absorb many attacks. In the Reverie, when Sabo threw fire at Imu, Imu seemed to be able to just absorb it.
“MU WILL SHOW THEE THE DOMINION OF GOD.” — Imu in One Piece 1149
With all that in mind, and with all the demon symbolism, it seems that the powers of Imu are those of none other than the Leviathan, a sea serpent of the Bible.
The Leviathan is very likely what Imu’s powers are. After all,Gunko and Saturn even made use of something known as the Abyss. The Abyss is known as the mouth of Hell in the Bible, but also as the mouth of Leviathan. All of these details seem to be much more than a coincidence.
