How to Unlock the Red Death Skill Tree (Perinde Ac Cadaver Walkthrough)
To unlock the new Red Death skill tree, players will have to complete a quest called Perinde Ac Cadaver. This quest becomes available as you enter the Cuanacht, the second region of the game, afterretrieving Excalibur from Horns of the South. You’ll have to head to the Hospital in the main town of Cuanacht and talk to Ignatius to activate the quest.
You’ll find Ignatius sitting on a hospital bed. Talk to him and run through his dialogue. At one point, he’ll ask if you wish to become a hollow shell. Select “Yes, I want a mark.” After that, he’ll brand you with the Hollow Shell mark and ask you to find someone called The One.
How to Find The One
The One is located in an area called the Toll House east of the Cuanacht Main Square. You’ll have to cross the eastern bridge from the main square and fight through a bunch of Red Death Infected enemies. When you arrive at the ruined castle-like structure, start making your way up the stairs. Follow the quest marker, and you’ll eventually find a lift.
Interact with the lever and use the lift to go down. Below, you’ll find a cave with the Toll House Fast Travel point. The One will be sitting on a chair nearby covered in spiderwebs. Talk to him.
After a cryptic conversation with him, agree to the task. He’ll task you with delivering the Mark of the Plague to two people.
Delivering the Mark to Una
Una is located in the Plague-Stricken Zone of the city near the main square. Follow the quest marker to find her and talk to her. During the conversation, you’ll have the option to give her the Mark of the Plague. Select this option to complete this part of the quest.
Giving Una the Mark of the Plague will essentially kill her, locking you out of the I’ll Be Waiting quest.
Delivering the Mark to Ignatius
After talking to Una, head back to the Hospital in the main city and talk to Ignatius. When trying to deliver the Mark of the Plague, he won’t take it as gracefully as Una. Convince him to take it by choosing the “Don’t be afraid. It will happen in your sleep” dialogue.
Return to The One
Return to The One and talk with him once again. You can use the fast travel point in the main square oruse a camp to get to him quickly. Give him the final Mark of the Plague after running through his dialogue, after which you’ll be teleported to an alternate version of the Island Asylum.
Island Asylum Revisited
This version of Island Asylum is different from the one you explored during the Prologue. The whole area is flooded with blood. Keep moving forward, and eventually, you’ll find a hole in the floor. Drop down to find a portal to the Asylum and interact with it.
If you missed it during the Prologue, you can find the Old Letter in one of the cells tostart the Unforgettable questinTainted Grail: The Fall of Avalon.
The Portal will take you to a new location where a Plaguewraith boss will be waiting for you. Defeat him to get the Plaguewraith armor set andthe Crimson Crusher two-handed weapon.
From this point on, you just need to keep moving forward, and eventually, you’ll find a woman sitting on a bench on a wooden platform. Run through all her dialogues, and once that ends, you’ll wake up back at the Toll House with the new Red Death Skill Tree unlocked.
As a reward for completing the quest, you’ll getan additional 2400 XPand the Prophet armor set.
