Equipment maintenance is a staple in many survival-crafting games, and inDune: Awakening, players can expect a similar system in play. Nearly all forms of equipment are liable to break, and if you can’t repair them, you’ll eventually have to replace them. Thankfully, repairing gear is a simple job, even if it isn’t immediately available at the start of the game.
Having to replace broken gear never feels good, but thankfully, you can fix your weapons and armor inDune: Awakeningonce you reach a certain point in the game. Here’s how to do it.
How to Repair Items in Dune: Awakening
You’ll be able to repair your stuffonce you build a Repair Station. Unfortunately, this won’t be availableuntil you finish the extended tutorial in the Hagga Basin South region. to unlock the Repair Station’s schematic, you need toreach Vermillius Gap and make a base there.
Repair Stations require Iron, which you canget in Vermillius Gap and beyond. Also, to refine Iron Ore, you need plenty of Water, so make sure you have a good source at the ready. We recommend making a base near some scavenger camps, so you’re never far away from salvageable scrap and drainable blood.
Once you have all the pre-requisites mentioned above, you should now be able to build a Repair Station with your Construction Tool.Place it anywhere in your base, but be mindful of its power consumption. If your base runs out of power, your crafting stations will stop working and the base itself will start deteriorating. By the time you reach Vermillius Gap, it’d be best to craft a second power generator in your base to support more crafting stations.
To repair your gear, interact with a Repair Station and select the items you want to repair from the list on the left.Repairing will reduce your item’s maximum durability.
you’re able to repair items you loot from the world. However, you must know their recipes before you can repair them.
Repairing Vehicles in Dune: Awakening
The harsh environments of Arrakisguarantee that your vehicles will eventually get damaged. To repair a vehicle, you need a Welding Torch and some Welding Wire. Instead of using a crafting station, you need to directly perform the repairs yourself.
Equip the Welding Torch and set it to Repair mode by pressing your alt-fire button. Next, point it at a damaged part of your vehicle, then press the Fire button to start welding. This will continuously use Welding Wire to constantly repair the damaged part. Keep in mind that this will also reduce the max durability of the part that’s getting repaired.
