Armor is essential for your characters inFantasy Life i: The Girl Who Steals Time. Without it, you won’t have the physical and magical defense to withstand enemy attacks. Armor also comes with elemental resistances, which is something else you’ll want to keep in mind when exploring new areas. The most obvious way to get armor is to buy it from the Armory in Eternia Village, the Mysteria capital, etc. However, you’ll find that the better armor can be crafted with one of your Crafting Lives.
Although armor and weapons should go to your party members first and foremost, there are someFantasy Life iquests that will require a piece of good quality armor/tool/weapon. You won’t be able to get good quality equipment from stores, so you’ll want to work on leveling your Lives. One of the most commonly requested items by your villagers is theHunter’s Hood.
Which Life Can Make Hunter’s Hood?
Unlocking Hunter’s Hood
to craft a Hunter’s Hood, you’ll need theTailor Life. you may choose the Tailor Life as soon as you startAuntie Anne’s quest to get 10k Dosh. The Hunter’s Hood is alevel 2 crafting recipe. If you’re not seeing it or you can’t seem to successfully make one, you shouldraise your Tailor Life levelandget a stronger Needle(tool).
To make the Hunter’s Hood, you’ll need the following ingredients:
All three of these materials can be made through the Tailor Life. Alternatively, you canpurchase themfrom the Material Shop in Eternia Village or Mysteria Capital.
If you’re still new in yourFantasy Life ijourney, then it’s better youcraft the materials yourselfsince you’ll want to save your Dosh to expand your Base Camp.
How to Get Dandelion Cotton
The Dandelion Cotton recipe is a Tailor Fledgling Recipe. This means it’ll be one of the first recipes you have immediately upon completing the Tailor Life starter quest. Here’s what you’ll need:
How to Get Woven Straw Fabric
You can buy Woven Straw Fabric or you can craft it. The Woven Straw Fabric crafting recipe is a Fledling Recipe, just like the Dandelion Cotton.
How to Get Wool
Unlike the Dandelion Cotton and Woven Straw Fabric, the Wool is a TailorApprenticeRecipe, meaning you’ll want to raise your Tailor Life to the next stage. You can do so by completing Tailor Life quests and reporting to the Tailor HQ in Eternia Village.
Once you unlock Apprentice recipes, you’ll find the Wool crafting recipe has been added to your list. Again, you can purchase Wool from the Materials store,or you can craft it yourself. Here’s how to make Wool and where to find its crafting ingredients:
How to Get Good Quality or Higher
Understanding Skill Points
When selecting a crafting recipe, you’ll notice aRecommendedbar with a number. This number represents therecommended Skill Levelyou’ll need for the recipe. If your Skill Level (on the left side of the screen) islower, you have a higher chance offailingeven if you score well during the minigame.
You should always make sureyour Skill Level is near the Recommended Skill Level. Generally, to get good/great/top quality gear, you’ll want your Level to behigher than the Recommended Level. To improve your Tailor Skill Level, you should do the following:
The Recommended Level for the Hunter’s Hood is120. When your Tailor Skill Points/Level meet that number, go ahead and start crafting.
During the minigame, you’ll want to scoreGreatorExcellenttoensure you get a good/great qualityHunter’s Hood. If you look at the top of your screen, you’ll see the timer, the number of turns you have, and the stations that you’ll need to interact with for your current turn and the next turn.
You’ll want to avoid failing crafting as much as possible. Failing to make something will result in losing some materials.
If you’re successful, your good-quality Hunter’s Hood will have a higher defense stat (or magic defense stat) than a regular Hunter’s Hood you could buy from the Armory. If you’re lucky, the armor piece may have askillattached to it, such as “Light Defense+”.
Where to Use Hunter’s Hood
Should You Give It Away?
Hunter’s Hood is a good headgear to equip when you’re just starting out. You’ll obviously end upreplacing it with something strongeras you rank up your other Lives, but it should hold you for the beginning areas.
Once you start reverting Strangelings back to normal, they’ll move in to yourBase Camp. Sometimes, a villager will have a request for you. When your Affinity is low or when the villager is brand new to the Base Camp, they’ll ask you for aGood or BetterHunter’s Hood. Complete this, and you’ll get a furniture item (depending on the villager), Dosh, and some Affinity points.
You’ll want to give them a Good or Higher quality Hunter’s Hood that you’re not wearing in the Equipment or Outfit menu.Keep the stronger Hunter’s Hood for yourself(or your party members) and turn in the “weaker” Hunter’s Hood for the quest. Once you give away the Hunter’s Hood, there’s no way of reclaiming it, so you’ll want to be sure you’re not giving away one with a useful armor perk.
