Thankfully, each of the Alters is fairly easy to please as long as you set aside enough time for them. After all, as different as they are, they’re all the same person at their core. Hanging out, socializing, and eating good food will raise everyone’s spirits, but you can also go above and beyond by rewarding your crew with special items that you find during your journey. How to Increase Happiness in The Alters
There arefive key ways to increase the happiness of your AltersinThe Alters. In general, you should avoid overworking your crew and give them ample time to enjoy themselves. You should also ensure that the base remains in working condition and that there are some creature comforts for the crew so they don’t get bored after their daily shifts.
Dialogue
Simply checking in with your Alters is enough to keep a smile on their faces. If you see a speech bubble next to the portrait of an Alter in the top-left corner of the screen, that means there’s an optional conversation available back at base. Hear them out and attempt to choosethe best dialogue optionsto ease their minds.
Movies
A movie night is another great way to raise everyone’s spirits, but you’ll need to find movies on the planet’s surface first. After building the Social Room, you can spend three in-game hours to catch a flick with your Alters and give everyone a happiness boost in the process. New movies will reward even more happiness, so keep an eye out for new films when exploring.
Beer Pong
Also in the Social Room, you may play beer pong with any of your Alters as long as they’re not busy. They’ll get a happiness bonus no matter how the game goes, but an Alter will get an additional boost to motivation if you manage to beat them.
Each Alter has a different skill level at beer pong, so some are harder to please in this way than others. The Scientist is an easy mark, for example, but the Technician will be a tough opponent to take.

Requests
Sometimes, your Alters will give you optional tasks that you can complete for huge happiness bonuses. If you create the Refiner, for example, you will be asked to build a Gym in the base so your Alter can keep up with his workout routine.
verify to jump on these tasks as soon as possible. You can alwaysupgrade your base to get more spacelater on anyway.

Personal Items
you may find cargo drops across the planet’s surface, and you can bring the stuff you find to your Alters to cheer them up. They’re all Jan’s items, but since every Alter is a version of Jan, they’ll appreciate them just as much.
Items that are seemingly useless to Jan can have huge sentimental value to an Alter, so be sure tocheck every nook and cranny of the planet’s surfaceto find new personal items.
