The armor sets in question are a palico set themed off the vibrant Blanka character fromStreet Fighterand the notorious Akuma for your hunter. The full Akuma set features a unique move set for your hunter that can surprisingly function as a viable way to play and make a build around. Here ishow to get theStreet Fighter-themed armor setsand thebest build for the Akuma armor.
How to Get Street Fighter Armor Sets in Monster Hunter Wilds
After updating your game to the most recent version, you will be prompted to speak toan NPC in the Oilwell Basin. They will mention rumors of monsters mysteriously being found dead throughout the area with no signs of a struggle. After speaking to the NPC,the side quest named Ultimate Strengthwill begin.
You will first need to find the previously mentioned corpses, with one being locatedclosely neighboring zone 4 and the other in zone 11. Once they are found, you will be asked to return to the Oilwell Basin and ask another NPC if they have seen anything suspicious in the area. They will mention rumors they have heard that will lead you to the bottom layer of the Oilwell Basin, where you can then find Akuma himself ina small area near Zone 16.
You must converse with him upon finding his location, which will end with him attacking you with his iconic raging demon move. After this interaction, you will then be grantedaccess to the Arena Questthat will reward the currency needed to craft his armor set.
The Arena Quest for this collaboration is called True Strength, and it has the chance of dropping several tokens needed to craft the Akuma armor set for your hunter and the Blanka set for your palico. It functions similarly to other arena quests, where you will have the choice between three different loadouts to complete a timed hunt in the arena.
The difference with this particular quest is that you will be given the Akuma armor set by default, granting you access to the move set. Therefore, it gives you the choice of using the unique moves tied to the armor or the weapons available if you so choose.
Both the armor set for your hunter and palico will require 5 of the unique tokens rewarded at the end of this event quest, along with some Ajarakan materials that will also be rewarded randomly upon completion. Once they are crafted, the armor will automatically equip each piece to your hunter.
Since they change how your characters look drastically, they must all be worn at the same time with no deviation. However, once they are crafted, they can beused as layered armor, so you will still have the freedom to use any armor you like while keeping the Akuma and Blanka look.
Best Akuma Build in Monster Hunter Wilds
When building around this new armor set for you hunter, there is a lot of room for build crafting. This is due tothe available decoration slots, featuring numerous level two slots and a couple of level three slots. The skills present in the full set grant you the following skills and their corresponding levels:
These are strong skills that appropriately reflect Akuma’s aggressive and nimble nature, with the armor leaving room to double down on that with decorations. When prioritizing the Akuma move set, the damage you deal and affinity percentage will scale based on your currently equipped weapon. Therefore, simply having something like a hammer or greatsword equipped that has a high base attack stat and affinity percentage will be the best option for this build.
Listed below are the best skills to prioritize with decorations and the reasoning as to why they have been specifically selected:
For talismans, the chainblade charm is the best way to get as much of the Flayer skill as possible while also combining it with the available decoration slots. The corrupted mantle is a great choiceif you are looking to double down on damage while accepting the risk of more damage taken, but the evasion mantle is the more consistent choice, especially since Evade Window is a staple of the armor set.
Level 1 decoration slots can be saved for quality of life skills like Recovery Up or Defense Boost, but they are flexible to suit your personal preferences. Depicted above is an example of what the decorations should look like in order to achieve the desired results.
