When taking onElden Ring Nightreign’s various expeditions, it’s important to track down the right tools for the job. Nightreign’s first expedition,Tricephalus, bucks a common trend of the original Elden Ring’s main bosses by having its main boss be vulnerable to holy damage. This means that bringing ways of dealing holy damage with you on this expedition will make it substantially easier to handle.
Another ofElden Ring Nightreign’s expeditions that is made notably easier with access to holy damage is the final expedition, Night Aspect, whose final boss (and the final boss of the game itself) is particularly weak to holy damage. This guide will explain how to track down holy weapon locations more easily, and offer a suggestion of how to begin an expedition with a weapon dealing holy damage.
How to Find Holy Weapons On the Map in Elden Ring Nightreign
Luckily, you’re able to spot potential Holy Weapon locations on the Map in Nightreign. Unfortunately, the symbol for Holy and the Symbol for Lightning are very similar, so you’ll have to look closely to spot the difference on the map. The symbol you’re looking for can be seen in image 1, above. These symbols will be found next to any location where weapons that deal that kind of damage can be found.
Players who favor magic could also try using the map’s detailed view to locate Sacred Seals, since these will sometimes have spells that deal Holy Damage. This isn’t as reliable as the previously mentioned method, but is still a good way of tracking down some more ways of dealing Holy damage if the symbol isn’t showing up anywhere on the map.
When going up against the Tricephalos Expedition, or the Night Aspect Expedition, the final boss will be particularly weak to holy damage, so make sure to prioritize any locations with the holy icon when challenging these expeditions.
How to Start an Expedition with a Holy Weapon in Elden Ring Nightreign
Players looking to dish out Holy Damage from the start of the run,or guarantee that they have a Holy Weapon regardless of how the map generation pans out, will need to have a bit of luck with their relics. Certain relics will change the damage type of a character’s starting weapon, and if you get one that converts weapons to holy damage, you can start out any run with a holy damage weapon. This will work for any character who can equip the relic, except for the Recluse, as her starting staff’s damage is determined by the spell being cast.
