FromSoftware has a long history ofgames that feature multiple endings, often hidden behind special requirements, andElden Ring Nightreignis no exception. There are four endingsNightreignplayers can unlock: three endings tied to specific characters, and one that all characters can unlock by completing the final expedition.
Each ending reveals more about each character and the state of the world in Limveld and thisever-shifting version of the Lands Between. This guide briefly explains what happens in each ending cutscene, details how to unlock everyNightreignending, and offers some context and answers to the meaning of every ending inNightreign.
This guide contains significant spoilers for all four endings inElden Ring Nightreign, including details on the final step of each questline and the specifics of each ending cutscene.
The Dawn Ending (Default Nightreign Ending)
In the default ending cutscene,Nightreignplayers see their character walk up the cliff ledge and watch as what appears to be strands of light channel into Roundtable Hold. These strands wrap around and course through the scenery until a bright light appears, followed by credits.
There is a little bit more to see, though.Stick around through the creditsto see another cutscene – one that involves the Erdtree. The camera will slowly pan over the Lands Between as a glowing flower petal floats toward a gigantic figure made out of roots.
The figure is enormous, towering over the Lands Between and even the Erdtree. In this finalNightreigncutscene, the figure appears to observe the Lands Between briefly, then turn around and walk the other way.
How To Get The Default Nightreign Ending
To unlock the normal ending inElden Ring Nightreign, you mustdefeat any four Nightlords to unlock access to the Night Aspect expedition, then defeat Heolstor. After you complete the Tricephalos expedition, you will gain access to six other Nightlords. Defeat any three of these toprogress to the final expedition.
After you return to Roundtable Hold, present the Nightlord’s Rune to the corpseat the top of the cliff north of the Roundtable itself to see the Dawn ending.
The Ironeye Remembrance Ending
In the secret Ironeye ending cutscene,Nightreignplayers see the Ironeye walk toward the corpse north of the Roundtable itself, then swiftly and methodically slit its throat with a curved dagger. Ironeye sprays the corpse’s blood all over the room, then turns around and walks back into the Roundtable Hold’s interior as the camera rotates.
As he leaves the shot, Ironeye remarks, “the Night… is far from over.”
As one of Those Who Live In Death, and based onstory clues throughout Ironeye’s remembrance quest, one can surmise that Ironeye decided to kill the real body of the Nightlord to prolong the Night and protect his kind. Those Who Live In Death are often spurned, but while the Night exists, Ironeye and Those Who Live In Death live a relatively decent existence. So why would he want it to end?
How To Get Ironeye’s Secret Nightreign Ending
To unlock the Ironeye ending inElden Ring Nightreign, you must progress through Ironeye’s remembrance questline until you are tasked todefeat Fulghor, Champion of Nightglow– the final boss of the Darkdrift Knight expedition. You must unlock the Night Aspect expedition to access this final chapter of Ironeye’s remembrance quest.
If you attempt this solo, be sure to get a bow with the Barrage skill and the Lightning affinity and bring along a suite of Relics that are suited for Ironeye.
Defeat Heolstor to get the Edge of Order. When you get back to Roundtable Hold, interact with the corpse at the top of the cliff andselect the “Clench Dagger” optionto see the unique Ironeye remembrance ending cutscene inNightreign.
The Recluse Remembrance Ending
In the secret Recluse ending cutscene,Nightreignplayers see the Recluse embrace what appears to be some kind of spirit infant within Roundtable Hold. Though there is no actual “cutscene” in the Recluse ending, after the camera fades to black, we do see a credits sequence.
The moment is simple and an oddly grounded, touching moment in a FromSoft game, but the lore implications are hard to pin down – the thing most fans agree on is that the Recluse embraces this baby to somehow protect it, perhaps to protect it from becoming the next Nightlord.
There are a lot of theories as to what’s happening in this brief, mysterious cutscene. Some even think that it implies that the Recluse is some kind of Deathbed Companion, as her embrace is reminiscent of Fia’s embrace of the player character inElden Ring.
How To Get Recluse’s Secret Nightreign Ending
To unlock the Recluse ending inElden Ring Nightreign, you must complete all Recluse remembrance quests. After you revive the Iron Menial in the Crypt in chapter 6, go back to Roundtable Hold and take on the Night Aspect expedition.Upon defeating Heolstor, you will be taken to a misty version of Roundtable Hold.
Don’t interact with the corpse at the top of the cliff; instead, turn around and go into the chamber where you wouldfind the Dung Eater inElden Ring, just south of the remembrance journal. You should start tohear an infant crying as you get closer. Interact with the baby on the bedto see the secret Recluse ending inNightreign.
The Wylder Remembrance Ending
In the secret Wylder ending cutscene,Nightreign players see the Wylder consume the Silver Tear earned in the latter part of his questline next to the body of thedefeated Heolstor, the Nightlord. Wylder doubles over and collapses to the ground, then the camera pans over the sand dunes of the final boss arena.
Then, we see Wylder’s sword come into frame, and the camera again pans over the dunes to the right until we see what appears to be Heolstor walking toward the horizon.
This implies that the Wylder chose to sacrifice himself to bring the Nightlord back to life, or perhaps mantle Heolstor in a similar way as players mantle Sheogorath in theShivering IslesDLC forElder Scrolls: Oblivion. Because the Nightlord must exist for this version of Roundtable Hold to exist, and because the Duchess/Priestess is tied to Roundtable Hold, Wylder likely decided to continue the cycle and become the new Nightlord to save her.
How To Get Wylder’s Secret Nightreign Ending
To unlock the Wylder ending inElden Ring Nightreign, you mustcomplete Wylder’s remembrance questline. The final step of Wylder’s remembrance quest requires you to traverse the Noklateo, the Shrouded City to find and defeat a Mimic Troll.
Aim to get to at least level 5 (preferably higher) before you make your way through this maze-like Shifting Earth event so you can survive the Astel meteor attacks and defeat the boss efficiently.
Upon returning to Roundtable Hold, speak to the Iron Menial for the last time to earn Wylder’s remembrance skin and the Silver Tear relic. Finally, defeat Heolstor, the Nightlord as Wylder with this relic equipped, then interact with the body of the Nightlord to see the unique Wylder remembrance ending cutscene inNightreign.
