Act 1 ofThe Altershas players trying to find a way to cross the lava blocking their path across the planet as they try and escape the sun. After recruiting the Jan Scientist alter and having them research a method of crossing the lava, they’ll discover that they need to build a bridge to cross it, which itself means you need the bridge anchor blueprints from the corporation. This means players need to make contact with Earth, but the option to make a call isn’t available. Here’s what players need to know to get the blueprints and carry on in the main questline inThe Alters.
How to Get the Bridge Anchor Blueprints in The Alters
Time to Call Maxwell
To get the Bridge Anchor Blueprints, players must first build the Rapidium Ark, which completes the quest that goes by the same name. To build the Rapidium Ark module, players will need 30 Metals, 120 Rapidium, and 100Organics. Once they have this, the ark can be built from the Base Building menu within the Command Center module.
Once the Rapidium Ark has been built, players will then need to contact Maxwell at Ally Corp and update him on their progress of constructing the module. After sharing the good news, players will then have the opportunity to ask Maxwell for some help, specifically the Bridge Anchor Blueprints.
Maxwell tells players that because the project the blueprints were part of was halted due to yielding unsuccessful results in their reality, the blueprints don’t exist. However, there are unfinished drafts that can be shared if the Jan Scientist alter could work with them to come up with a means of crossing the lava.
After giving the Scientist alter the unfinished blueprints, you can then have them research the Bridge Anchor from the Mission branch of the Research menu. This will take 10 hours for them to complete.Once these have been researched, players can then craft Bridge Anchors from the Workshop, but these require 20 Metals and 20 Polymers.
10 Polymers can be created by combining 20 Organics and 20 Minerals, and you’ll need 80 Polymers to make all four Bridge Anchors you need to cross the lava. This means players will need 160 Organics and 160 Minerals to make the Polymers, and 80 Metals and 80 Polymers to make the Bridge Anchors.
While this might sound simple in premise, getting all the different materials and crafting the Bridge Anchors can be pretty tricky. There are a number of other materials and resources players need to constantly craft, such as Radiation Filters, food, and Repair Kits to keep their base and alters functioning as they should. Plus, getting Polymers from the Refinery is a time-consuming process, making it difficult to get everything done in the limited number of days before the sun catches up and ends the playthrough.
Once all the Bridge Anchors are built, players then need to place them on the red sections marked on their map. With the anchors placed, fill up the Organics storage and interact with the base controls in the Command Center to cross the lava and wrap up the events ofThe AltersAct 1.
