Crafting is an important part ofTainted Grail: The Fall of Avalon. As youprogress through the main story, you’ll also need to make sure your weapons and armor are leveled up with you. Without proper upgrades, you’ll find yourself lacking both in terms of damage and sustain, making the game a lot harder than it needs to be.
There are a variety of resources the game throws at you to keep track of. Resources such as iron or copper, while they can be found inside lootable crates, can also be gathered from their respective ores by mining. That said, you won’t be able to mine anything at the start of the game until you get a Pickaxe. Here’s what you need to know about mining inTainted Grail: The Fall of Avalon.
How to Find a Pickaxe in Tainted Grail: The Fall of Avalon
The first step to mining resources inTainted Grail: The Fall of Avalonis to find a Pickaxe. After you land on the beach at theend of the Prologue with Arthur, your main quest will point you toward the Horns of the South castle. Once there, you can talk to the merchantOrlaith(just beside the main gate) andbuy a Pickaxe for 16 Coins.
Alternatively, there’s a way to get a Pickaxe without spending a single Coin. As soon as you land on the beach, follow the road until you reach a fork. Take the right path and keep heading forward until you find an NPC namedHorstmining a giant collapsed statue of King Arthur.
Just next to him, there’s a mining cart with a Pickaxe inside. Since it doesn’t count as stealing, you also won’t have to worry about the NPC turning hostile.
You only need one Pickaxe in your inventory to start mining ore.
How to Mine Resources in Tainted Grail: The Fall of Avalon
Once you have a Pickaxe, mining is pretty straightforward. Simply walk up to any minable ore and interact with it. On PC, press E, or use X/A if you’re playing with a controller. You’ll need to press the button three times tomine the node fully and collect the resources.
Here are all the Ores that you’ll find inTainted Grail: The Fall of Avalon:
Copper Ore
The most common type of ore in Act 1. These ores have a greenish tint.
Iron Ore
Slightly rarer than Copper but still available in Act 1. Identified by a peach tint.
Wyrdstone Ore
Found growing on stone walls inside the Archspire. These minerals are white in color.
Meteorite Ore
A rare find in Act 1. One can be found on the window ledge of the collapsed tower near Forgotten Cemetery.
Titanium Ore
Becomes more common later in the game. A few nodes are located in the northern parts of the map. These ores are red in color.
Mining is a key part of crafting inTainted Grail: The Fall of Avalon, and getting an early start on it will definitely pay off later in the game. Once you’ve got your Pickaxe, be on the lookout for ores scattered around the world. That way, you’ll be able to upgrade your weapons and be fully prepared for what comes next in Act 2.
