There’s more to uncover at Murray’s Costume Manor inFNAF: Secret of the Mimicthan meets the eye, and it’s not just the crazed animatronics lurking around every corner. There are various types of collectible items to find, many of which can lead to achievement rewards and the unlocking of special endings for the story.
One type of collectible item you should set out to find inFNAF: Secret of the Mimicare theaudio logsleft by Erwin and Fiona. There are numerous ones to find throughout the facility, and some can be rather challenging. If you find yourself stuck, here’s where to find them all.
The following guide contains heavy spoilers regarding unlockable areas, characters, and all endings for FNAF: Secret of the Mimic. Please read ahead with caution.
What Are Audio Logs in FNAF: Secret of the Mimic?
Audio Logs are a certain type of collectible inFNAF: Secret of the Mimic(not to be confused withthe Gift Box Collectiblesor Text Logs) that are found via special tape cassette players scattered throughout the game. To “unlock” them, you simply need to press the “Play” button on the cassette player, and the audio log in question will play.
They provide pieces of supplemental lore related to Edwin Murray, Fiona, and their son David that help thread the story together more cohesively. So, if you’re especially interested in the game’s story details, it’s all the more incentive to collect these audio logs. You can also play them as often as you want.
Finding and listening to all Audio Logs in the game also gets youthe Good Listener trophy/achievement.
All Audio Log Locations in FNAF: Secret of the Mimic
There are a total of 22 Audio Logs to find inFNAF: Secret of the Mimic, and while some are easy enough to find via following the main story, others require more thorough exploration and completion of optional objectives and collectible items.
Audio Log 1 - Employee Office Near Big Top Showroom
This audio log is found in an employee office directly to the right when you first enter the atrium that leads to the Big Top Showroom. You need ‘Repair’ level clearance to get into the room. Go inside and up the stairs, and the cassette player will be on the wall immediately to your left.
Audio Log 2 - Office Above Storytime Showroom
Getting to this audio log requires finding and accessing the secret Storytime Playroom area. Start by accessing the door behind the Smack a Clown carnival game (knock out all teeth but one to get to it), then work your way through the obstacles ahead to eventually access the showroom.
Make your way to the narrow path behind the stage and crawl to the elevator lift in the corner. This takes you up to the office overlooking the Storytime Showroom, and the cassette player is found inside to your right. You also unlock the ‘Goodnight, Sleep Tight’ trophy/achievement for reaching this area.
Audio Log 3 - Second Floor of Area Before Roof Access
This audio log is found in the two-floor safe area before you head outside through the Roof Access door. There’s also a Clearance Upgrade Machine and an Inventory Box here. you’re able to find the cassette player up on the second floor on the right side wall.
Audio Log 4 - Stage Control Room Above Theater
To get this audio log, head into the Theater via the main atrium and look for the hidden passage along the right side wall behind a pile of clutter. This will lead to an open vent you’re able to crawl through that leads to a hallway where the Stage Control Room is. Head inside, and the cassette player will be sitting on the counter.
Audio Log 5 - Assembly Office Inside Workshop
This audio log is found inside the Workshop area, just in the office next to the assembly platform where you put together the Springlock suit. The cassette player is sitting on the couch across from the HELPER computer.
Audio Log 6 - Office Near Entrance to Backstage Area
When you first enter the Backstage section in the Springlock suit, there will be a small office ahead of you to the right. The cassette player containing an audio log is on a table inside, just next to the HELPER computer.
Audio Log 7 - Entrance to Loading Bay
You can find this audio log when you enter the Loading Bay area, where you’ll see the next crane puzzle to move around several animatronic platforms. The cassette player is on the wall straight ahead, near an Inventory Box and a whiteboard depicting the progress of Edwin’s many projects.
Audio Log 8 - Storage Room Above Loading Bay
After you make your way across the crane puzzle in the Loading Bay and go up the stairs to the top, this audio log can be found inside a sparse storage room directly to the right. You need Admin access to enter it, though you should have it for the story by this point. The Admin Wing itself is just beyond, so make sure to grab this before then.
Audio Log 9 - Upper Floor of Warehouse
Before heading to the Admin Wing, you can and should also go grab this audio log, as it’s easily accessible from the same area above the Loading Bay. Look for the double doors labeled ‘Warehouse,’ and they’ll lead you to the upper catwalk overlooking the Warehouse you were evading Chica in earlier. Go all the way around the catwalk and through the security door ahead (Admin clearance required), and the cassette player will be on the wall at the far end of the room.
Audio Log 10 - Break Room in Admin Wing (First Floor)
This audio log is found on the first floor of the Admin Wing area,where Chica is patrollingin a minefield of Cupcake animatronics. The Break Room is accessible from the left side of the maze-like room, so navigate your way over and get through the security door (Admin clearance). The cassette player will be sitting on the kitchen counter in the corner, just by the HELPER computer.
Audio Log 11 - Edwin Murray’s Office
This audio log is found inside Edwin Murray’s office, which is in the Admin Wing on the second floor. You can only access it after you upgrade your Data Diver with Executive clearance (also on the second floor). The cassette player is sitting on the low bookshelf behind Edwin’s desk under the window.
Audio Log 12 - Elevator Room Before Basement Level
After you escape Chica in Edwin’s Office by going through the vent shaft from the security monitor room, you’ll wind up in a room with an elevator that forcibly leads you down on a detour to the Basement level. Before you get in, though, this cassette player is sitting on a knocked-over server tower near the elevator itself.
Audio Log 13 - Basement Level
After you take the elevator down to the Basement level (after the events in Admin Wing/Edwin’s Office), head into the open room. Here, you’ll find this cassette player on the wall on the left side, near an Inventory Box and HELPER computer.
Make sure to unlock this immediately before heading down into the sub-basement. An animatronic boss awaits you there, and you won’t be able to backtrack from that point.
Audio Log 14 - Secret Room Inside Basement
This audio log is probably the most dangerous one to get to, as it’s deep in the basement maze where you face off with the White Tiger animatronic.
Audio Log 15 - Returns Room in Main Hallway
This audio log is found inside the Returns room at the far end of the Main Hallway of the facility. Go past the Warehouse main entrance, and the door to the Returns room will be around the corner on your right. You need Admin level clearance to enter this room, so you will need to revisit this area after getting said clearance. Upon entering, the cassette player will be on the wall on the left side.
Audio Log 16 - Storage Room on Second Floor of Main House (Glitched Clearance Required)
To get this audio log, you must firstunlock the secret ending by gathering all Giftbox Collectibles,completing the Moon.EXE mini-game, andreceiving Glitched Clearance for the Data Diver.
In the Main House (or Erwin’s House), head up the stairs to the second floor and go to the door immediately on the right. You need Glitched clearance to enter it. Go inside, and the cassette player will be on a table on the left side.
Audio Log 17 - Blueprint Room on Second Floor of Main House (Glitched Clearance Required)
To get this audio log,you must first unlock the secret ending by gathering all Giftbox Collectibles,completing the Moon.EXE mini-game, andreceiving Glitched Clearance for the Data Diver.
While on the second floor of the Main House, go left and hack into the first door on the left. You need Glitched clearance to enter it. Go inside where you find walls covered in animatronic blueprints. The cassette player will be on a table on the right side.
Audio Log 18 - Prototype Freddy Fazbear Pizzeria (Alternate Ending Required)
To access this Audio Log,you must engage the alternate ending of the story by running the Parachute.EXE programand making your way to the depths of the facility where a mock-up of Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza is found full of early prototypes of familiar animatronics.
After you select the ‘Turn On Stage Lights’ option on the HELPER computer in the center of the pizzeria room, a room to the right of the stage will open. Along with the Freddy Fazbear suit for you to wear, there’s an Executive-tier security door. Open it, and the cassette player will be hanging on the wall inside.
Audio Log 19 - Bathroom Next to Prototype Freddy Fazbear Pizzeria (Alternate Ending Required)
To access this Audio Log,you must engage the alternate ending of the story by running the Parachute.EXE programand making your way to the depths of the facility where a mock-up of Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza is found full of early prototypes of familiar animatronics. After escaping out of the main pizzeria room to the bathroom area, you’ll find this cassette player hanging on a wall.
Audio Log 20 - Passage to Main House from Prototype Freddy Fazbear Pizzeria (Alternate Ending Required)
After escaping out of the main pizzeria room and meeting F10-N4, she’ll send you to the main house. On the way to the train cart that takes you there, this cassette player will be sitting on a table next to the tracks.
Audio Log 21 - Desk on First Floor in Main House (Alternate Ending Required)
To access this Audio Log,you must engage the alternate ending of the story by running the Parachute.EXE programand make your way into the depths of the facility. This Audio Log is sitting on a desk in the room directly to the left from where you enter the Main House that F10-N4 sends you to. Be careful of the Mimic actively patrolling the area.
Audio Log 22 - Destroyed Attic in Main House (Alternate Ending Required)
To access this Audio Log,you must engage the alternate ending of the story by running the Parachute.EXE programand make your way into the depths of the facility. This audio log is up in the attic area of the Main House that’s partially destroyed, just after you get past the door on the second floor via the keypad code obtained from the Film Reels in the house (the code is randomized).
The cassette player is on the wall near the table with the HELPER computer (where you activate Cradle.EXE). This is the final audio log found in this particular ending.
