Borderlands 2is one of thebest looter shooters around. This means players will be tearing their way through many different enemies for a consistent barrage of new guns. Players will also repeatedly farm bosses in the hopes of getting special drops from those bosses. However, sometimes some of the best loot a player will get will come from red chests.

The more red chests they can open, the higher their chances of getting legendary drops. The Red Chest farming locations for this guide will focus on a good mid-game spot and a good late-game spot for the base game ofBorderlands 2— which isstill worth playing to this day.

Arid Nexus Badlands Run in Borderlands 2

A well-known red chest run in the game is the Arid Nexus Badlands red chest run. This is because players are able to snag up three red chests, quit to the main menu and repeat. Up until this point, players will have plenty of side quests to keep raising their levels and make their current guns obsolete. This makes having an early game chest not really worth the effort, as players will need to ditch the gun anyway.

Pick up the Bone Shredderwhile in this location.

Players will want to run as fast as they can to each of the following locations to find a red chest at each of them. It is worth noting that there are a lot of enemies in the area, and players may not have the survivability to ignore them early on. So dealing with them may be required to survive long enough to open each of these chests.

Location 1

Players will find a structure with an orange tarp and “we’re closed” written on it. Players can get on top of this building from the north side to find their first red chest.

Location 2

Head to the second marked location on the map above to find a large red building. Players can jump on the large trash bin on the side of this building and then jump up on top of this building. They will find a red chest on top of this building.

Location 3

The final location will be at Dr Zed’s old shop from the originalBorderlandsgame. Head inside the marked building to find the chest. However, players will find an electric fence denying them access to this location. The only way to disable this would be to head up to the bridge above and find an electric fuse box.

To make matters worse, going up to the bridge will trigger a boss fight against Saturn. Saturn may not be one ofthe franchise’s most memorable bosses, but he will leave his mark on players by how much of a hurdle he is to overcome at this point in the game.

This makes this final location far more trouble than it is worth. In fact, it may be faster to focus on just farming the first 2 red chests. Players can add this to their chest run rotation once they have become truly OP and are able to melt this boss in mere moments.

Once players have gotten their loot, they can save and exit the game, then repeat these three locations to find the chests have all reset.

Players canuse Maya’s phaselockfor the heavy loader between the start and first chest to make a fast run to get the first 2 chests before repeating.

Best Red Chest Farming Location for Late Game in Borderlands 2

Players will eventually reach a location called “Vault of the Warrior”. This is the location in which players will face off against the final boss of the main story of the game. To reach this location, players will need to make their way through the Hero’s Pass location.

Right before the player is able to travel to Vault of the Warrior, they will see a red chest come into view. It is likely they will see this chest before they even see the entrance to the Vault of the Warrior.

Once players reach this red chest, they can repeat the following rotation as many times as they want to keep opening up the red chest.

Players will see that the red chest is closed again. They can now repeat the steps above indefinitely. This is the perfect place to get some amazing weapons for the boss aheadand for the endgame.
