The enormous number of armaments and skills creates a lot of build variety inElden RingNightreign. But at the end of each run, you lose all gear and alllevels earned during that Expedition, essentially resetting your character back to square one for the next run.
One way you can customize builds inNightreignis to equip and useRelics. Relics grant passive bonuses that carry across Expeditions, andcan be swapped in and out between runs. This guide explains what Relics are inNightreign, how to swap and sell Relics, and how to change your Vessel and Relic slots to maximize each character’s starting build.
What Are Relics In Nightreign?
InElden Ring Nightreign, Relics can be equipped to grant each character permanent bonuses that carry through each run. You do not lose Relics at the end of each run, instead, you are rewarded with Relics at the end of each Expedition – whether you are successful in killing the Nightlord or not. Relics can then be equipped in Roundtable Hold to grant useful passive effects.
Look for the blue Relic Rites table in the central Roundtable Hold area with the Expedition table, just to the right of the hallway that leads to the Small Jar Bazaar. Interact with this to customize your current Relic loadout.
You can swap between characters by tabbing between menus at the top of the Relic Rites screen.
At first, each character has one Vessel, which contains three slots with different colors. Each Relic is associated with a certain color – red, blue, green, yellow, or colorless – and can only be slotted into a Vessel slot of a matching color. Colorless slots can fit a Relic of any color, but are relatively uncommon.
There are several different Relic sizes, ranging from small to large. The larger the Relic, the more passive bonuses it will grant. You can freely swap between Relics between runs and tailor bonuses to your needs. For example, one Relic might grant your starting weapon Fire damage, which is useful against certainNightlords andNightreignbosses, while another may grant a special synergy for your character skills, which can be useful across all runs.
How To Get More Relics In Nightreign
To get more Relics,Nightreignplayers have three options: complete Expeditions, go to the Small Jar Bazaar, or complete Remembrance quests.
How To Equip & Sell Relics In Nightreign
To change your current Relic loadout, you must go to the Relic Rites table in Roundtable Hold. Interact with the blue table next to the Roundtable itself to open up the Relic Rites menu. Here, you will see your current Vessel for your current Character and a list of owned Relics on the right side of the screen.
To equip Relics,Nightreignplayers must either select a Relic from the list and place it into the appropriate slot or select one of their colored Vessel slots, which will only highlight Relics that will fit into that slot. Scroll through your list and slot Relics that suit your character and Vessel colors.
You should aim to equip all three Relic slots in your Vessel. Even if you don’t have Relics that are perfect for your character, you should still take advantage of minor stat bonuses and passives by filling all three slots.
You can also sell Relics inNightreign. If you have too many Relics and want to clear out the ones you never use, you cantrade them for Murk to buy new skins, gestures, and more. Scroll all the way to the right of the character tabs within the Relic Rites menu and you will find a “Sell” tab. Select every Relic you want to sell, then click in the right analog stick to confirm.
This is an excellent way to get more Murk (to spend on more Relics or unlock character costumes) and clear out a cluttered Relic inventory.
How To Get New Vessels & Change Slot Colors
Every character starts with a basic Vessel generally suited for their character. Though passives can roll on multiple different color Relics, they tend to be associated with specific colors – physical passives tend to be red, sorcery and incantation-oriented passives tend to be associated with blue, and so forth.
As such, you may get a Relic that is useful for a character that you can’t equip with their default Vessel color configuration. To get new Vessels with different color slots,Nightreignplayers have two options: purchase new Vessels from the Small Jar Bazaar or earn them as a reward for certain Remembrance quests.
To swap your current Relic, open up the Vessels menu on the home page for each character. You can equip Relics across multiple Vessels – though there is an icon that indicates a Relic is already equipped in a Vessel, equipping it to a different Vessel will not unequip it. This is especially useful for powerful Nightlord relics, which can provide useful effects for multiple different characters, like the ability to share Sacred Flask uses.
