Village contests are a great way to bring the community together inRune Factory: Guardians of Azuma, but also a fun way to put a player’s skills to the test in a variety of different disciplines. The problem is that the game will discuss arranging contests, and players will see ‘Contests’ appear in their XP breakdown at the end of each day, but it’s unclear where to find the village ledger used to arrange one. This guide will explainhow to arrange village contests inRune Factory: Guardians of Azuma, and where to find the village ledger so you can take part.
Where to Find the Village Ledger in Rune Factory: Guardians of Azuma
Hidden in Plain Sight
The Village Ledger is found by the shrine dedicated to the village’s respective God. However, it’s not by the front doors where it may make sense for it to be. Instead, in each of the villages, the ledger can be found down the sides of the shrine. Head up the wooden steps towards the building itself, and then look down the left or right side of this platform area by the shrine to find a book on a stand. This is different from the podium that you can interact with to summon the village’s God (handy for increasing the village level).
Once you’ve found the village ledger, press Y on Xbox, Triangle on PlayStation, or X on Switch to interact with it.'

Contests can’t take place on existing holidays within the world ofRune Factory: Guardians of Azuma, and can only take place on Sundays, so keep this in mind. Select the date from the calendar that appears.
You can now select the type of event you’d like to do. Each one will test your skill in various disciplines, such as growing the biggest and best crop, catching the biggest fish, and so on. Any contest can be arranged from any village ledger, regardless of whether it takes place in that village or not. For example, the saltwater fishing contest that takes place in the Summer Village can be arranged from the Winter Village.
With that done, press ‘Ok’ at the bottom of this screen, and you now just need to wait for the big day. Keep in mind that some of these contests may require you to make preparations in advance. So, if you’ve managed to harvest a ‘giant’ crop a few days before the Harvest Contest, you may want tokeep it in your inventoryand submit that instead. In other words, you don’t necessarily have to find your submission for a contest on the day the event is taking place.
What Happens After Participating in a Village Contest in Rune Factory: Guardians of Azuma?
Rewards for Everyone!
By simply hosting and participating in a contest, you’llearn a good amount of money. When participating in a harvest contest and finishing eighth, I earned 7,600G, which is quite a lot from something that took a matter of minutes to complete. In addition to this, you’ll increase the happiness of your village if it’s not already maxed out. I also got one Turnip seed, though better rewards are given for finishing higher.
