Elden Ring Nightreignoffers a simplified form of the level-up system fromElden Ring. While you may’t choose each individual point and what stat you put them in, you will be able to level up your character and increase a lot of their stats with only one level.
Leveling up isn’t the only way you’re able to increase your stats, as relics, talismen, and buffs from boss caches can also increase your base stats. Poise is one stat players will see a lot of; here’s exactly what it does and if it’s worth focusing on.
What Is Poise In Elden Ring Nightreign?
Poise isan invisible statthat determineshow easily your character staggers or gets knocked down when getting hit by an enemy. This invisible stagger bar will fill up as you’re hit, and if your poise is maxed out in a short amount of time, your character will stagger or even get thrown back. Larger and stronger enemies deal a lot more stagger points than others, meaning you can easily be staggered with only a single hit, also interrupting any action your character is doing.
With enough poise, your character cancontinue their action even when getting hitby a strong attack or a flurry of smaller attacks. There is no way to see your stagger bar, and it’s determined by your overall poise, which also can’t be seen inNightreign. Even with the inability to see any of these stats or systems, increasing your poise with any method will offer a noticeable difference.
Should You Increase Your Poise In Elden Ring Nightreign?
Poise is a stat that only comes up when you get hit by an enemy. If you’realways dodging or sitting in the back away from an enemy, Poise shouldn’t be a major concernfor you. That being said, some classes are made to be up and in the thick of a fight, and those classes should consider upgrading their Poise if other options in a boss cache aren’t that good, but only here and there, as it’s not a stat to focus on purely in a run.
You’ll find poise boosts in boss caches when playing as any of the classes listed above. Two or three poise upgrades will make you more than strong enough to deal with single hits from most bosses, though you’ll almost never get enough poise upgrades to completely ignore getting staggered by a boss’s combo.
Every other class inElden Ring Nightreignis a good bit faster and can quickly dodge out of the way of an attack, so focusing on other stats and upgrades is a much better option. All choices in an expedition ofElden Ring Nightreignhave pros and cons, and focusing on what happens when you get hit will distract you from making your character strong enough totake down a bossquickly before they can get enough hits off on you.
