Matt Smith Comments on Daemon Becoming the Three-Eyed Raven Fan Theory

In a recent video interview withEntertainment Weekly, which also included Emma D’Arcy and Olivia Cooke, Matt Smith, who plays Daemon Targaryen inHouse of the Dragon, responded to the fan theory that his character in the epic fantasy series could be the Three-Eyed Raven.Although Smith seemed a little confused about how to properly answer the theory, he did humorously say, “Interesting. I hope so. Good one. I like that.“The theory in question comes fromHouse of the Dragon’s season 2 finale, where Daemon sees something pretty important in the future while touching the Weirwood tree.Daemon’s vision includes Brynden Rivers(Lord Bloodraven), who is the same Greenseer that helped Bran Stark in his journey to understanding his destiny inGame of Thrones.

This particular fan theory, even though it’s really intriguing, isn’t likely to happen unless theHouse of the Dragonshowrunners have decided to change the narrative from the books, something that its fanbase would likely have an issue with. Although if this fan theory were to come true, the idea would be that Daemon would steadily hone more and more Greenseer abilities, probably in secret, and possibly use these abilities for his own power-hungry agenda. This would then cause a huge rift between him and Rhaenyra, in which she would feel betrayed yet again.
