Arrowhead Game Studios has released the patch notes for the newHelldivers 2update, which brings a commemorative cape for those who fought during the “Battle For Super Earth.” Patch 01.003.103 also introduces balance adjustments to Mega Shrieker nests and Leviathans, and addresses a bunch of issues and bugs across several aspects ofHelldivers 2.
As a live service game,Helldivers 2steadily rolls out content updates, introducing both minor and major changes, along with new activities for players to tackle. However, these additions have not always been well-received, leading the game to suffer major ups and downs that have negatively impacted its rating on Steam. The latest major activity wasHelldivers 2’s Battle for Super Earth event, where players had to defend the planet against a massive invasion by the Illuminate alien faction. This conflict was part of the “Heart of Democracy” update, which brought urban warfare and new enemy types, among other things. Now, Arrowhead has good news for those who participated in the event.
The developer had previously teased areward forHelldivers 2players who got involved in the Battle for Super Earth event, and is now delivering on that promise. The reward is a new commemorative cape included in the newHelldivers 2update, and only those who were actively playing during the event, from May 13 to June 2, will receive it.
In addition to the reward, Arrowhead is introducing balance adjustmentsforHelldivers 2’s Leviathansand Mega Shrieker nests. The former now has a shorter sight range and features a light that marks the target before firing, giving players more time to react. The latter has seen a health increase, as Arrowhead wants to ramp up the challenge a bit more.
There are also a bunch of fixes detailed in the patch notes, including tweakstoHelldivers 2’s Stratagems, weapons, enemies, and missions. The P-92 Warrant can no longer lock certain targets when in unguided mode, and issues with the pistol’s animations have been addressed, among other fixes. An issue where some enemies could clip into certain terrain elements was also rectified, though Arrowhead noted it is not yet fully resolved.
Numerous crashes that impacted the game experience have also been resolved, including one that occurred when players took down Illuminate Overships. With all these changes, the developer continues improvingHelldivers 2while also working on future additions—like the long-awaited Review Bomb Cape, which the CEO promised would arrive eventually.
