Summary

Arrowhead Game Studios' third-person action titleHelldivers 2is being review-bombed on Steam, and not for the first time in its history. The recent reviews forHelldivers 2have been brutal, although it’s for a reason many fans will not expect.

Despite being one of the surprise hits of 2024,Helldivers 2has had an up-and-down relationship with its player base. On the one hand, Arrowhead Game Studios has continued to release great content for the game on a regular basis, and its Galactic War is an example of live-service done correctly. However,Helldivers 2has been review-bombed by playersseveral times since launch, with criticism aimed at the game’s weapon balance as well as the well-publicized PlayStation Network requirement controversy.

Now,Helldivers 2is being review-bombed onSteamagain, with recent reviews falling to “Mixed.” While some criticism is aimed at crashing issues and bugs, most recent negative reviews are focused on theinvasion ofHelldivers 2’s Super Earth Mega-Cities. Of the two Mega-Cities left standing, players found that holding Equality-on-Sea would constantly cap at 99.9783% held, which left some players feeling as though they were artificially unable to hold the city. This isn’t the case, though. As it’s a defense in which the Illuminate are continuously invading, it’s impossible to hit 100% until the time limit on the invasion expires.

Regardless, the inability to actually complete the Equality-on-Sea defense has been a significant factor in the latestHelldivers 2review-bombing. It’s a shame, as theHelldivers 2Heart of Democracy updatethat added the defense of the Mega-Cities brought a considerable increase in the game’s player count. For now, players continue to hold Super Earth and fight off the Illuminate assault across the final two Mega-Cities.

It’s not something forHelldivers 2fans to be worried about any time soon, thoughh.
