The second Steam Next Fest of the year is set to begin on Monday, June 9, and will run through June 16. Nacon and Rogue Factor have confirmed that theHell is Usdemo will be featured at the showcase, offering potential buyers a closer look at what to expect from the the gritty open-world action adventure.
Deus Exart director Jonathan Jacques-Belletête is leading the development ofHell is Usas its creative director. Prior to joining Rogue Factor, Jacques-Belletête spent 12 years at Eidos Montreal, working onDeus Ex: Human Revolution,Mankind Divided, andMarvel Guardians of the Galaxy, among several other titles. For his next project, the industry veteran set out to create an immersive experience that encourages players to explore and uncover mysteries without much in the way of guidance. This design philosophy behindHell is Usstands in stark contrast to the long-running trend in game development of streamlining open-world games to the point of hand-holding, often replacing exploration with extensive checklists of objectives.
Hell is Usis scheduled for release on September 4. While its newly launched demo is PC-only, the sci-fi action adventure will also be arriving on the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S on day one.
