On June 13, the only Friday the 13th in 2025, Universal Studios announced thatJason Voorheeswill return for this year’s Halloween Horror Nights. Rumors about the iconic villain from theFriday the 13thfranchise being featured at the event had been circulating for some weeks, and Universal confirmed them at the perfect time.

The franchise has been featured in multiple Halloween Horror Nights since the 1990s, not only in the US, but also in Universal Studios Japan. However, it’s been a while since Jason was last included at the event; the last time was at 2017’sTitans of Terror Tram: Hosted by Chucky, with Jason, Freddy Krueger, Leatherface, and, of course, Chucky. This year, the iconic villain will be featured at both Universal Orlando Resort and Universal Studios Hollywood.

According to a press release,there will be a brand-new haunted house based on theJason Universe. Guests will enter thesummer camp where Jason was born, where they must run from multiple Jasons before it’s too late. This will surely make fans even more excited forCrystal Lake, which should also drop more information soon. Horror Inc. assures that the experience will be immersive and cinematic, a tribute to one of the most memorable horror movie characters; they strive to deliver a fun and unforgettable experience that old and new fans will enjoy.

Attractions at Halloween Horror Nights 2025

At Universal Orlando, there will be 10 haunted houses, scare zones, live presentations, and more. It’s not clear whether Universal Studios Hollywood will feature the same number of attractions for Halloween Horror Nights. Universal is still making announcements for the event but has already confirmed thatFalloutandFive Nights at Freddy’swill be included this year for the first time at both parks.Falloutwill inspire a thematic haunted house, andFive Nights at Freddy’swill be featured “in a whole new way,” with more information to be revealed in the future.

Fans and guests can already buy limited-edition merch, includingJason-themed merch, at the parks and also on Universal Orlando’s online shop. More collaborations and exclusive merch should be announced in the next few weeks. Only two haunted houses have been announced so far, so there’s a lot more to come. Halloween Horror Nights will take place on select nights from August 29 to November 2 at Universal Orlando Resort and from September 4 to November 2 at Universal Studios Hollywood.
