A newGenshin Impactpoll has revealed that players want more male characters in the game, pointing out the imbalance between new male and female units in the RPG.Genshin ImpactVersion 5.6 recently added two new characters to the playable roster, including the long-awaited Natlanese Ifa.
As a live-service title,Genshin Impacthas consistently introduced new characters in almost every patch since its release. For this reason, the roster has considerably expanded, to the point thatGenshin Impactwill reach 100 playable charactersin its upcoming 5.7 patch. However, without counting the Traveler, the game currently offers 65 female playable units and only 33 male ones. This has caused some players to be discontent with the reduced number of male characters available, as revealed in a recent poll.
As spotted byComicBook.com, a poll shared on theGenshin Impactsubreddit by user Aggravating_Dance612 has revealed that players would like more male characters in the game over more female additions. The poll, which currently has a total of 178 votes, prompted fans to comment on the disproportionate ratio, saying they wished for an equal number of male and female units. This isn’t the first time that fans have complained about this phenomenon.Genshin Impactreleased only four male charactersin all of 2024, with Kinich being the only 5-Star, while the three 4-Stars were Gaming, Sethos, and Ororon. Genshin Impact Fans Point Out Lack of New Male Characters
Players won’t have to wait long for a new male character, asGenshin Impactconfirmed Dahlia’s debutfor Version 5.7. However, it remains to be seen whether HoYoverse will address the apparent lack of variety of male units. One of the main appeals of gacha titles is pulling for characters. Unfortunately, if a game doesn’t offer enough characters that fans can resonate with, their gameplay experience could be affected.
While Dahlia’s release is happening soon, fans are also excited about the potential debut of other male characters, like Dainsleif, Varka or the human version of Durin.Genshin Impactconfirmed Varka’s presencein Nod-Krai, the sub-region of Snezhnaya expected to launch during the 6.0 cycle. Players were very disappointed when Capitano never became playable in the Natlan Archon Quest, and some fear that Varka could suffer the same fate. Hopefully for fans,Genshin Impacthas plans to release more male units sooner rather than later.
