Gears of War: Reloadedis set to be the definitive way to experience Epic Games' 2006 classic third-person shooter, remastered from the ground up in 4K. First announced back in May,Gears of War: Reloadedwill offer all the content featured in the original game, and it will be shinier than ever. It’s taking the franchise to new ground -Gears of War: Reloadedwill be the first ever game in the series to launch on PlayStation, which even a few years ago would have been unthinkable. There’s cross-play multiplayer, too, so gamers will be able to play with friends no matter their platform.
Following the release of a new gameplay trailer at the Xbox Games Showcase, The Coalition revealed onXbox WirethatGears of War: Reloadedis officially getting a multiplayer betaprior to launch. There will be two beta periods in total, the first of which runs from June 13 to 15. This will allow gamers to play Team Deathmatch across the classic maps Gridlock, Raven Down, and Gold Rush. Afterward, a second multiplayer beta will open between June 20 and 22, where gamers will be able to try out King of the Hill on Canals, as well as Courtyard and War Machine being added to Team Deathmatch.
Gears of War: Reloaded Multiplayer Beta Dates
This beta won’t be open to all gamers, though. There are three ways to gain access. The first is to simplypre-orderGears of War: Reloadedon Xbox Series X/S, Xbox PC, Steam, or PlayStation 5. Any player who owned a digital copy ofGears of War: Ultimate Editionbefore May 5 will also receive an invitation, too. The final way to play the beta is to have an active Xbox Game Pass Ultimate or PC Game Pass membership, so gamers who want in before the first test opens still have a chance. It was also confirmed that fans who pre-orderGears of War: Reloadedwill receive two multiplayer character skins: Adam Fenix and Anya Stroud.
BeyondGears of War: Reloaded, fans of the series have plenty to look forward to. Next year will see therelease ofGears of War: E-Day, a prequel that brings back Marcus and Dom during the earliest days of the Locust War. It’s going to be exciting to see those two characters back in a brand-new story, andGears of War: Reloadedis the perfect warmup act for players to get using to seeing the pair again.
