This meant that as soon as the employees stapled the receipt to the outside, it pierced straight through and left two puncture marks on the screen.
GameStop Addresses Broken Switch 2 Screens

The company says it has “addressed a unique case of staples damaging Switch 2 screens,” which was isolated to just one store. GameStop goes on to state that replacement consoles have been offered to affected customers, before then joking that “staplers have been confiscated.” While this will most certainly prevent any employees from stapling receipts to Switch 2 boxes again, plenty of other users have criticized Nintendo’s console placement inside. For $450, fans expect more appropriate protection for their consoles.
