As part of theDragon Ball Legends' 7th anniversary, Toyotaro drew an illustration of Ultra Instinct Goku and Blue Evolved Vegeta, transformations introduced inDragon Ball Super. While this is not part of theDBSanniversary celebrations, it feeds the eagerness of fans for news. Fans ofDB Legendsalso seemed disappointed with the game’s anniversary content, with most describing the new illustration as the highlight of the celebration.
WhatDragon Ball Superfans truly wantedas part of the 10th anniversary celebrations was the announcement of a return date for the manga series. The series has been on hiatus since March 2024, with a brief return in February 2025. Some were also waiting for news on a potentialDragon Ball Super Season 2, which could still be announced at some point later this year.
Is The Dragon Ball Super Manga Canceled?
SinceV-JUMPdid not announce a new chapter for June, when the series will complete 10 years, many fans began to wonder if theDragon Ball Supermanga would be canceled. Although no return date has been announced, Toyotaro recently gave an interview about the series, in which he teased that he ispreparing the Black Frieza Arc. In the interview, it’s clear that Toyotaro has plans for the series and is probably working on it despite the long break.
For now, itseems thatDragon Ball Superis not canceled. The reason why the hiatus has been extended so much is still a mystery, but it may be related to the legal dispute over theDragon Ballfranchise rights, reportedly involving Shueisha (theDragon Ballpublisher) and Capsule Corporation Japan (led by Akio Iyoku). Since V-JUMP is still droppingDragon Ball-related content, Shueisha probably wants the series to continue.
