At the very start of Whistlestop Summit,Mario Kart Worldplayers will see a railroad to the left of the course. There are several points in the course where it is advantageous to grind the railroad instead of taking the road, and this first shortcut in Whistlestop Summit is one such spot.

If you start on the center or right side of the starting pack, you’ll find it difficult to get to this shortcut on the first lap, as there is only a small gap to enter the railroad. Players who start the race on the left side can enter this shortcut immediately, but even in later laps, it serves as a way to cut a second or two on the first corner.
