It’s been a rollercoaster year for superhero video games.Marvel Rivalsbroke all kinds of recordsback in December, and it’s managed to maintain much of that day-one excitement by consistently releasing new content and continuing to listen to fan feedback. But whileMarvel Rivalsrepresents the highest of highs, bothMarveland DC have also seen some of the lowest lows this year.
Back in February, Warner Bros. announced that it was canceling Monolith’s Wonder Woman game, and that the studio was being shut down entirely. Just a few days ago,Marvelhad its own bad news to share. EA confirmed that Cliffhanger’s Black Panther game had also been canceled, and that the new studio was being closed just two years after its formation. It’s been a pretty tragic few months for superhero video games, but there are still plenty of projects in development.
