Toget V-Bucks inFortnite, players must purchase a V-Bucks card at a retailer or online with a credit card. However, there are special offers and bundles in the Item Shop that can only be purchased with money rather than in-game currency, meaning gamers can only get them if they use a credit card.
Since credit cards are the only way topurchase real-money items inFortnite, many players have never had the opportunity to get them. Epic Games wants to change this, and it seems that it might’ve come up with a solution: Wallet Cards. With Wallet Cards, fans can use physical money to purchase in-game items. Though they’re not available yet, once they start popping up in stores, fans will have to be careful, as visually, Wallet Cards have a similar appearance to V-Bucks cards. However, they add money to players' Epic Games accounts rather than granting V-Bucks to theirFortniteaccounts, so V-Bucks aren’t depicted on them at all.
Epic Games Adding Way to Purchase Fortnite Content Without a Card
The image that HYPEX shared of the Wallet Cards suggests that their value will range between $15 and $150. While it is great to have the option to purchase items this way, there is a disadvantage. For example, if players want toget aFortniteStarter Pack, which costs around $5, they won’t save that much money since there are no Wallet Card options for less than $15. Thankfully, the remaining funds will be connected to their Epic Games account, where it’s safe and sound.
Regardless of the game depicted on the card, it seems that players will be able to load their Epic account with money and purchase not onlyFortnitebundles and packs, Save the World, and the Crew Pack now, but also use the money to acquire anything they want in the Epic Games Store. It is possible that this is just one of the various editions of Epic Games Wallet Cards, so more designs could be revealed; soon enough, players could be able to purchaseFall GuysWallet Cards orRocket LeagueWallet Cards. For now, no date has been confirmed for the upcoming Wallet Cards, but according to HYPEX, Epic Games has stated that they can beexpected later this year inFortnite.
