First revealed at The Game Awards in December 2024, theElden Ringco-op spin-off is scheduled for release on May 30. Over the past several weeks, FromSoftware and Bandai Namco havegradually been revealingElden Ring Nightreignclasses, referred to in-game as Nightfarers.
The ARPG’s launch trailer that premiered on May 27 continues this trend, offering a glimpse atElden Ring Nightreign’s previously rumored Revenant Nightfarer. While the trailer does not confirm the class name, it features a previously unseen Nightfarer summoning a giant skeleton around the 42-second mark. For context, earlier rumors suggested the game would include a class focused on Spirit Ash summons, reportedly named the Revenant. The ethereal aesthetic of the trailer skeleton matches the manner in which Spirit Ash summons are presented inElden Ring.
Elden Ring Nightreign Teases New Enemies
In addition to the Revenant teaser, the launch trailer also reveals several previously unseen enemies, including a giant lightning-shooting dragon that Nightfarers charge around the midpoint of the video. IfElden Ringbossesare any indication, this formidable foe will likely have at least one grab attack, as indicated by its enormous jaw with an erratic biting animation. The one-handed centaur-like enemy that was already seen in some earlier promotional materials also makes another appearance here, forcefully jumping on a stone platform around the 51-second mark.
Nighreign’s Classes Will Matter More Than Elden Ring’s
Elden Ring’s classeshad minimal long-term impact, serving primarily to shape the early-game experience. From Astrologer to Bandit, Confessor to Samurai, each archetype could eventually be molded into virtually any build. In contrast,Elden RingNightreign’s Nightfarers are more deliberately designed, with clearly defined strengths and weaknesses from the outset. Based on the limited information offered by the February 2025 network test, eachNightreignarchetype has the potential to feel “broken” if built properly, especially if the player lucks into some good equipment drops.
Given thatNightreignbuilds on theElden Ringfoundation, the Revenant class may prove to be one of the more accessible options for tackling the game’s many challenges. InElden Ring, Spirit Ashes functioned as a de facto difficulty slider due to their potential to trivialize many bosses. Their effect on the game’s difficulty was only rivaled by the Vitality attribute, which directly impacted survivability—a dynamic that also appears to hold true inNightreign.
