Ironeyeis one of the few ranged classes out of the eightNightfarersinElden Ring Nightreign. The Nightfarer uses a bow and is a deadly assassin who fights from a distance. Though the class looks pretty straightforward, managing stamina and keeping distance are both vital aspectsand can change the outcome of the fight.
Understanding which bow to use,Relics to equip, and how his general kit functions is the tricky part and will require players countless hours of experimenting and playing the Expeditions. Luckily, the guide below covers all of those things, along with helpful tips on how to master him in both solo and online Expeditions inElden Ring Nightreign.
How To Play Ironeye In Nightreign, Explained
Assassin of the Fellowship.
He is feared for his split-second judgment and the ability to spot even the most fleeting of chances to strike, earning him the moniker “Ironeye.”
Ironeye is a Nightfarer with average Health, FP, and Stamina, which makes him a relativelysquishy targetin most encounters. This stat distribution pushes him into a supportive yet high-damage role, wherepositioning is everything. He must stay at a safe mid-range distance—close enough to reliably land hits and maintain pressure through consistent marking, but far enough to avoid drawing aggro or getting hit by area attacks from bosses.
One of Ironeye’s strongest advantages is his bow, which has unlimited ammunition. This not only removes the hassle of managing arrow supplies during long Expeditions but alsomakes him more accessible to newer playerstrying to understand ranged combat. His Ultimate ability, which fires a massive, piercing arrow, can serve multiple purposes. It’s excellent forreviving downed allies from afar, clearing out groups of weaker enemies, or even dealing considerable damage in tightly packed boss encounters—making Ironeye an essential asset for both solo runs and coordinated multiplayer sessions.
Relic Bonuses Ironeye Benefits From Most
Improving Bow Attack Power
As Ironeye’s primary weapon will always be the bow, increasing overall attack power is beneficialregardless of which boss you are planning to fight. However, you should ideally use a Relic that not only boosts attack power but also provides a secondary effectthat complements Ironeye’s playstyle. Relying on a single beneficial effect is generally not worth the Relic slot, so aim for combinations that enhance both offense and utility.
you may sell Relicsyou don’t need and purchase more from the Small Jar Bazaar using Murk.
Additional Character Skill
This could be Ironeye’s best Relic if you manage to acquire it during your Expeditions. The skill not only marks the target but also grants partial invulnerability during its animation.Having two copies in your arsenal allows you to apply the mark more quickly. In certain boss fights where you might overextend and get too close, you’re able to simply use the dash twice to instantly create distance, putting yourself miles away from danger in seconds.
Extending Mark Duration
As the mark on most bosses can disappear if you don’t deal enough damage within a certain time, you can use a Relic that increases the mark’s duration, giving you more leeway before needing to reapply it. This is especially useful in situations where you can’t safely get close to the boss but still need the mark active to trigger the stagger.
Best Ironeye Weapons
Ironeye Favored Weapon: Bows
In terms of weapons, there is only one real choice: bows. The entire class is built around using a bow and maximizing its potential. WhileIroneye’s high Dexterity allows him to wield weapons like Curved Swordseffectively, bows remain the most viable option. You can also use a crossbow or a Greatbow, but the latter may not be ideal due to its Strength requirement, which Ironeye lacks.
Ironeye’s starting weapon isn’t particularly powerful, soyou should search for better alternatives during your Expeditions. Bows with Skills such asBarrageorRain of Arrowsare extremely effective. If you may obtain a bow with an ailment that matches the boss’s weakness and it hasRain of Arrows, you can deal significant damage and speed up the process of inflicting that ailment.
It’s a good idea tocarry multiple bows in both your main and off-hand slots, allowing you to switch between different ailments for various bosses. This becomes especiallyuseful in Encampments(marked on your map), where your primary bow may not be enough for tougher encounters.
How To Get Better At Playing Ironeye
Marking For The Stagger
Ironeye is one of the classes with a lower health pool, and because of this, many players assume he should stay as far away from enemies as possible. While this playstyle can help avoid the boss’s aggro, it severely limits his overall effectiveness. This is because a lot ofIroneye’s kit revolves around marking enemies—a powerful mechanic. Not only does themark increase damage dealt to bosses, but destroying it also staggers them. However, destroying the mark takes longer on bosses with higher max health, and there’s a risk the mark will expire before it can be broken.
In Multiplayer, if you’re coordinating with friends, you can try the Triple Ironeye team composition. Each player canalternate placing the mark, keeping it active on the boss throughout the fight. The sheer damage potential from this strategy makes it a viable and rewarding composition. When marking enemies, you don’t always have to go through them—it’s possible to mark and quickly turn back, returning to your original position immediately after the animation.
Reviving Is a Must
While playing solo, you won’t need to worry about teammates or whether they’re struggling against a Field Boss. However, Multiplayer is a different experience. When a player runs out of health, they enter a crawl animation, during whichyou can attack them to initiate a revival.
One of the best things about Ironeye is thathe can revive allies from a distance. Thanks to his unlimited arrows, he doesn’t have to worry about FP usage. However, firing still consumes Stamina, so be mindful not to focus solely on reviving and ignore the bossthat downed your teammate.
you may also use Ironeye’s dash ability to deal a small amount of damage to the revival bar and quickly close the gap, reviving teammates faster.
