AnElden Ring Nightreigndataminer has uncovered the true numbers behind the game’s leveling system, revealing that hitting max level during a run isn’t all it’s cracked up to be.Elden Ring Nightreignlaunched in late May to ample fanfare as the multiplayer co-op follow-up to 2022’s Game of the Year and potential “Game of the Generation” contender,Elden Ring. The game offers eight different playable Nightfarer characters that serve as their own classes, and players are tasked with leveling up enough over the course of two in-game days to be prepared for a final showdown with one of the game’s ferocious Night Lord bosses.

There are a myriad of activities and things to accomplish inElden Ring Nightreign’s ever-shrinking Limveldworld that can help squads level up fast. Clearing out enemy camps and taking down field bosses will net the largest amount of runes to level up at a site of grace. Strangely, the leveling screen only shows numbers for players' base stats, HP, FP, and stamina, and doesn’t provide any numbers for attributes like vigor, strength, endurance, and the like. While it’s true that in most cases each level-up upgrades all of a character’s attributes at once, each character benefits differently from a gained level, leaving players in the dark.

AnElden RingNightreignYouTuber and dataminer namedZullie the Witch posted a short videorevealing exactly how the game’s leveling system works. In the video, Zullie shows leveling stat charts foreach ofNightreign’s eight characters, highlighting exactly how each one benefits from each level. Perhaps most importantly, these charts show that the last three levels, 13, 14, and max level 15, only increase players' stats by a minimal amount, adding only one single point in most cases.

Elden Ring Nightreign’s Max Level Offers Diminishing Returns

This is potentially strategy-changing news for someNightreignplayers, as this may mean that once players hit level 12 or 13, it might be smart to begin conserving runes to use at a shop to purchase smithing stones for weapon upgrades instead of leveling any further. Seeing that levels 13, 14, and 15 combined can pretty much act as a single level, it might not be worth chasing level 15 unless squads know they’ll have the time to do so, asfacing the Night Lordat level 13 or 14 might be considered a waste of runes. With that said, reaching level 15 can be extremely difficult and requires airtight efficiency to get the absolute most out of each 14-minute in-game day.

Developer FromSoftware is expected to add more characters, bosses, and perhaps even more maps toElden Ring Nightreignin the future. It’ll be interesting to see whether it also raises the max level at some point and, if so, whether levels 13, 14, and 15 will be buffed as a result. Since the game was only just released a few weeks ago, it’ll likely be several more before FromSofware is ready to sharewhat’s next forElden Ring Nightreign.
